Any suggestions on how to correct this? Happened Saturday night on my wife's brand new Escape. There's a little chipping in the paint, with an odd point of contact where said egg hit. I'm not happy.

Thanks guys. I'm probably going to do a Dr. Colorchip for this. I purchased one for my vehicle last year with decent results, so...
Call your insurance company - should be only your deductible ($100?) for this type of thing.
I don't know if said egg was fired.
I do know that if my son wasn't in the car with me, it would have not been good for the shooters. I don't do well with the damaging of people's property, especially vehicles.
I may still get a quote from a shop for the repair. Anyone know a good shop in South Jersey? I HATE body shops.

That's called
Egg Imprint Chips
I have an article on this...
Imprint Chips - Chips in the paint caused by a thrown egg
I've fixed this on my own truck years ago using touch-up paint followed by wetsanding and then buffing out my sanding marks. It's very time consuming and if you're not super careful you'll just make things worse.
The damage shown in your pictures is some of the worst looking Egg Imprint Chips I've ever seen.
Take a look at the Dr. Color Chip product line or get an estimate from a good body shop with the body shop route being your best bet for long term customer satisfaction.
Just tell them not to wetsand, cut and buff the paint after they're done painting unless the guy doing the sanding and buffing is a member of AGO. Other wise you'll be removing holograms.
Sorry to see this happened to you...
:dunno:
I can check with my buddy Lenny House, he might know a good body shop. He's a pro detailer and been through my class and knows the difference between a good shop and a not good shop.
