Electric Pressure washer

1400 is fine for washing cars, I have a 2000 psi electric pressure washer and it can chip wheels, or make paint chips Crack more.

Luckily I already experienced this on a friend's old commuter car and he had some paint chips on his wheels and it imeadilitley lifted and caused more cracks and chips.

So I now respect the machine and never go too close and got a less aggressive tip and more of a fan.

So 1400 is perfect

I have a 1,700psi Greenworks and love it. Small enough I can pick it up if needed. Easy to use, quiet and under $200.
I use it with my foam cannon and it works perfectly. I get perfect pressure and great foam.

I was shopping around in the same market and just ordered the Sun Joe 3000. It hit the sweet spot for me in terms of pricing, power, and features. To be clear, I did not have a pressure washer and was looking to get one to do some around home tasks as well as using it with a MTM foam lance.

The main reason I chose it was price ($150 at Amazon and Home Depot, went with HD because a return would be easier if needed), flexibility (five nozzles to choose from), and the two year warranty, which is double that of comparable models. Most of the fittings on the wand appear to be brass and not plastic. The hose connection is plastic, which would seem a weak point, so I may upgrade to a brass quick connector depending on how initial use fares. I also read several reviews of the MTM foam lance that say it will attach to this specific unit with no problems at all - some of the other makes required additional adapters.

When it comes to pressure washers, you need to look at CLEANING UNITS, which is PSI x GPM. PSI isn't everything. You can have a lower PSI washer with higher GPM, which will have more CU than a higher PSI with lower GPM.

I want to get a pressure washer. What do you guys recommend? This will be my first time detailing cars.

Have an AR Blue 383. Been trouble free for 3 years. I only do 3 cars in the house plus 5 more from family members. PSI is one thing but GPM is just as important, in my opinion. My AR runs an MTM foamer with no problem. Works great at cleaning wheels, tires and wheel wells.

I got the same AR383 model last year and it worked quite well for about a year. Just recently started tweaking out, but I purchased an extended warranty on it through Amazon, so they're refunding it and I can buy a new one :) I just upgraded to the 390SS model and bought the same extended warranty. I use mine to wash 1-3 cars a day though, so you'd probably get much longer amount of use out of it.

Also works perfectly fine with a foam cannon BTW!
