Energy drink reviews

I have had the distinct pleasure of being associated with a motorsports team sponsored by one of these fine drink companies(big green logo if you get my drift). While a great company to work for and with those drinks are just wrong. Some have toulene in them, in case you don't know one of the active ingredient in octane booster's. I have seen so many kids(showing my age young adults) around 17 to 20 something just hopped up out of their gourds on energy drinks at races. Good for those of us who want the entertainment bad for them in the long run.
My 2 favs where the pineapple flavored Monster's and the Java flavored/based one, can't remember the names as I don't even bring them home anymore even though I used to get them for free.
Funny story, my youngest was a sophmore in high school and we used to get cases of these drinks and he would always take a couple to school. Well it turns out, as I got a call from school because someone's parents complained, he was selling them at lunch and break for a buck a can and would take more like 6 a day to sell. Little s@#t was making money off the freebies.

What a champ. Hustlin in high school. Im the MAN

My favorite energy drink is certainly Vegas Fuel but I'd say amp is up there too.

Yep he's always been a hustler. He walked into a Hyundai dealership at 19 talked his way into an entry tech position with no real background except high school auto classes and working on all sorts of motors with me at home, 2 years later he's a factory certified tech. I will give him that.

The only energy drink that I like is the Monster Rehab "Ice Tea/Lemonade" Red Bull is nasty and tears me up.

LOL will do.

Look forward to meeting you!

I drink a black label 5 hour energy drink each day around 2. Gives me the boost I need to push through the 2nd half of the day!

Best stuff every... technically not a drink but definitely a Shot!!!

:iagree: Can't go a day without it!

There were two doctors on TV yesterday discussing how these drinks may pose a health risk to many unsuspecting users. Too much caffeine and sugar on top of other caffeine from coffee, soda and, alcohol is risky. The doctors stated that 13,000 were admitted to ERs around the country last year due to use of these drinks. They claimed new studies show it is growing in epidemic fashion around the country. Expect to see the FDA finally crack down following the NIH report.

Caffeinated Energy Drinks -- A Growing Problem

If you feel the need to use these so called energy drinks ask yourself if it is really worth the risk.

Yes! There worth it!

Caffiene doesent seem to affect me anymore . Ive drank 2 cups of coffee and took 2 NO-Doz tablets and fell aslepe.

Try a black label 5 hour energy drink Larry! Everyone will ask whats wrong with you!

I've been hooked for years on diet "Rock Star". The wife and family holler at me and preach how bad it is but I love this stuff. I think I could give up my Gentleman Jack and Captain Morgan but not the rock star or diet coke.

Sometimes I chase my shot of 5 hour with a Rock Star!

Last Friday I tried the black label 5 hour energy drink. Around 2:30 am and was getting sleepy. It said to drink half but my friend said just drink the whole thing for full effect. I was up until 8:30am so I was up for over 24 hours that day. Came back home and crashed.

Nice testimony!

Wow...I have never had an energy drink in my life. I have pretty much cut out all caffiene from my diet except for an occasional diet soda at lunch. I am afraid that as high strung as I am that after taking one of these I would explode :)

Try one and you will understand why you've had to ban me on more then one occasion!

You should be very proud of your Son!

Question.

Do you folks actually buy energy drinks for the energy? Or because its a recognized label that trendy people buy tons of because its cool?

I have to have to get my caffeine fix or I have withdrawls from it.

With that being said I am a coffee drinker, but due to my location I usually drink the energy drinks because they are cold.

I dont like Red Bull so I drink Monsters. I have a 16oz every day.

I do it because I'm hooked! If I don't get my fix, its going to be a bad day!

Yea I used to get them for the energy. Then after living off of them during my 18+ hr school days. Now they don't do anything either. But I do like the taste of many of them.

green tea brewed with filtered water, raw honey, and ground American ginsing....thousands years of proven results and only pennies a glass

Wow I read the whole thread and no one said RedLine! OMG Becky would...you need to try a redline lol. I tried a big redline once and on the bottle it says drink 1/4 bottle. Well I drank over 1/2 and it wasn't fun! I thought I just ingested a little white substance and did not like it...Me being me I tried it again and this time it was a little bottle the size of those 5 hour energy drinks. They say to drink half of it. When you drink half it wakes you up and keeps you going. They say 7 hours but I don't know. The only kind I like is the grape and it can't be hot.

Nobody mentioned Full Throttle its the only one that gives me energy. Coffee is my other choice.

I used to be spoiled at work we had a big double community coffee machine and first thing in the door was to make coffee and drink a cup or 2 while I read over my relief's turnover and paperwork before doing anything outside, once I switched to a different area that didn't have a coffee machine I started dragging ass till I got over the caffine kick.

I used to drink Red Bull, and then it started to lose its effectiveness.

Then I switched to coffee, and I realized I had a problem. I had days where I could no exaggeration drink two pots by myself. For about a year I decided it would be in my health's best interest to give up coffee.

At this point I started drinking Tea, and simultaneously a co-worker scored a "deal" on demo cases of Monster through someone who worked for Monster. I literally tasted the rainbow. You name it and I have had it. I finally came across Rehab and that's my new poison.

To answer your question: Yes. I drink it for the energy. I figure 1 to 2 cans of Rehab a day have gotta be healthier than a pot or two of coffee + cream + sugar. I wish I didn't need the caffeine to make it through the day but work is slammed and 60-70hrs a week is a normal week, and then to top it off I probably only sleep 3-4 hours a night.

Same here! At first they really gave me energy and seemed to make me really focused.

I was drinking two a day for the last couple years and then I started to notice it giving me mood swings and making me edgy. I've stopped drinking them daily now but I will have one or two on the weekends when I'm doing a car.
