So it's my first time doing this so it might not be as spectacular as other people's work, I'm a pro amateur detailer for paint work lol (minus pc/rotatory), under the hood cleaning is new to me. I still need to do another pass with Optimum Power Clean as I forgot my stiff brush to agitate. The engine bay hasn't been cleaned in 5 years so you can imagine agitation is a must, I used a mothers wheel wheel brush/EZ detail brush which is soft for the time being. I think it came out good, again still need work on some plastic parts with a stiff brush and engine needs some more work. I will use Mothers Aluminum & Mag Polish on the engine metal to help remove grime (especially towards the back of the engine/ past the oil cap there is real caked on grime that needs work), just had somewhere to be so I will do it another day.

Looks good....All you need for your LSP is Duragloss Ultimate Detail Spray #265....:xyxthumbs:

So what was the dilution ratio you used?

I used it at full strength since 5 years of dirt, I wanted a strong break down, especially since I didn't have a stiff brush to really work it. My second pass I will do 1:1.

Looks great, good job :)

Thanks! Expanding my detail skills...as one girl put it while I was finishing up, "your car puts the other ones to shame" lol

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant as LSP (which is really good), but only a little as when I do another pass with Optimum Power Clean it will most likely strip it so I didn't want to waste the 303 product.

Side note: It was my first time using Power Clean, it has been sitting around but I have most of the Optimum line, and I have been happy with them all. Just ordered the gallon Power Clean to shorten a couple of my non optimum products and start using it for my tires/wheels, bug & grime remover, pre-soak, and interior-rubber,plastic,vinyl,leather.

:props: Over 85% of my detailing is with Optimum products. I've detailed some of the vehicles with Optimum Power Clean and dressed with Optimum Tire Shine. When using the Tire Shine, make sure you use a small amount of it and wipe it down a few times to make sure that it will not build up dust under the hood.

Yea me too, I use ONR, opti bond, poli seal, car wax, and the list goes on. Haven't used tire shine on anything besides dressing tires, thanks for the tip.

I think I've recently made Optimum a ton of money with OPC!

lol I've been using Optimum for awhile now, when people ask me what I use while I detail my car I promote Optimum as well..def a great line of products at a reasonable price..ONR was my first product.

Cleaning engines is something I feel get better over time. Each time you clean it will rid any "looser" stuff. As the engine heats up and cools down during normal operation over say a week or two, it will weaken and morph the older stuff. The next time you hit it up it will clean a little more than before, and subsequently as washes and time goes on.

Something that helps: dressings or WD-40, and actually wiping hoses and stuff after a few washes. I had a Honda CX650 once I got as a beater, and it was rough. When I sold it 2 years later the guy asked me if I had ever disassembled the engine and hot tanked it, or repainted it since the block looked so clean. "Nope, just lots of WD-40 after each wash until I got it looking nice and even black again. I made double my money on the thing, and only invested in fluids and a new seat (and mucho cleaning).

Good job!! Keep it up.

Yea def, next time I'm going to warm it up a lil more as well since I didn't rlly get it warm. I think brushes will make a huge difference on how clean it gets as well. But it looks pretty good for 5 years without cleaning lol, so Im optimistic of how good it will get next pass..I have Aerospace 303 for dressing, with the little I used happy with the results...damn you must have really had it clean lol, but thanks for the tip. Another thing I just completed for the first time, painted new brembo rotors that are going on in a couple of weeks (i have 5 spoke wheels and the rust from old rotors are not pleasant looking).
