ERA Shelby Cobra

These are very fun cars to drive and work on. No flat panels and lots of things in the way of your buffing pads (: The worst is doing the rear with all the lift-the-dot studs and roll bar in the way. Those will eat up a pad instantly. Gotta pull out the small pads and take your time. Very rewarding though. I'm curious how you handle the dash inside the windshield area. I find I have to do this area mostly by hand, which sucks. My favorite one to detail was the black one I had (also an ERA). Much more fun than doing a huge late model Mustang or similar black car.

I used a small polisher for the rear half of the dash and did the rest by hand. There were a lot of deeper scratches and that area isn't as nice as I'd like it, but it came down to 'majoring in the majors'.

If there was a bigger air compressor available, then a 2" pneumatic polisher probably could have gotten all but the last inch or two.

Very nice car & work. I'm not familiar with ERA replicas. I see a lot of Factory 5's, & a local guy has a Superformance one with an all aluminum bored & stroked Carroll Shelby 427. Like 427 cubic inches isn't enough for a light weight car like that!
