"Eureka Moments" in Your Detailing Learning Curve

Probably the 3rd time I used the Tornador to complete an interior. Don't know how I ever went without this tool.

The first time I used it...thought it was a waste of money. The second time I used it...I realized real quick that it helps cut time in half. Third time...I've never looked back. It's a must. :xyxthumbs:

Which product are you using in your Tornador?

This one's a no-brainer for me-detailing clay. At first the concept seemed stupid. How could rubbing this colored bar of Play-doh be anything worthwhile for my paint? After one trial on splattered traffic line paint, I was sold for life.

I actually just run a water based dressing through it. I do all the APC cleaning before hand...then go around and dress with the Tornador.

I used to run a cleaner through it. But I just find it more useful as strictly a dressing tool.

My "eureka moment" was when I first used WOWA sealants like Opti-seal and UPGP!!!

Its just sooo easy and quick! Best of all, now residue and other dried stuff in crevices!! :D Just love WOWA sealants now!!

Other was, when I first tried PO85rd on my hood! Man that was freakin sweet!

A lil older one, when I was new to detailing etc. I used NXT2.0 on half the hood and eagle one nanowax liquid on the other half.

The nanowax half was gleaming like crazy!! But usually I think paste and liquid waxes make a lot of mess, unless applied with a DA!

Again another one! lol I stripped all the tire dressing to try out the 'pinnacle black onyx sample' that I got with my order! I was like super impressed!!

Earlier I used to like my tires glossy all the time, but this changed everything!!! It looks so amazing + lasts quite a while too! Will order a 16oz. bottle soon!

Loads of other eureka moments for me as I was exposed to the detailing world and most of all, AG! :xyxthumbs:

When I found out I could just pay people to do this for me! LOL

When I found out people would PAY ME to do this for them!!Im the MAN
When I realized an ounce of prevention = a pound of cure. As in paint sealants, wheel wax and no rocks in your drying towel :)

Mine was when I realized that everything doesn't have to be absolutely perfect. Especially if you know that the owner will not follow a "proper" wash regimen or even try to maintain the finish, there is no sense in chasing every RIDS (referring to family/friends cars, I don't detail professionally). Just clay, do a one-step, throw on some wax. They're amazed and you didn't bust your butt for nothin'. :xyxthumbs:

I'd say figuring out there was a machine that would polish my paint instead of using my hands :props:

I ran Meg's APC, foamed up way too much. Right now I have APC+ in it, smells better too.

realizing that "I" am the stupid one....not the car........although they should invent self healing paint!

They did invent self healing paint..however, it doesn't really work that well and is a pain to work on. Ask those who've done it! :props:

definately using Collinite 915....was worried that I wont get it right cos it's a paste and really hard to remove...but followed the advice I received here...and wow...the colour and shine was just amazing!

Collinte 845 gets all the kudos on here...but the product that really is at the top of my list when it comes to Collinite products is the 915 product. Yeah...its an old fashioned, hard paste wax that's hard to get out of the tub (yadda, yadda, yadda). Everybody these days prefers a buttery wax or a liquid wax...but let me tell you....915 is WORTH it, maybe it's old school...but I have yet to find any sealant or wax that tops it in both looks and longevity.

Now having said that, I really have to try the new Optimum Opti-Coat 2. That could potentially be a game changer for me (another "Eureka Moment")....
