Well, looks like it's going good :xyxthumbs:

Had the chance spend some quality time with a Lamborghini LP640, Audi R8, Maserati Gran Turismo S and Porsche Cayenne Turbo. And all the clients leave with a smile on their face.

I just read through the thread and I'm not sure how I missed your thread asking for help except that you started your thread on a Sunday, (I try to take Sunday's off, it's too easy to post 7 days a week, 24 hours a day because I've done that before and it's not healthy for any aspect of your life), and then the days afterwards I was preparing for the Mobil Tech Expo which I left for on Wednesday, on Monday and Tuesday I was creating Power Point Presentations.


Anyways, after reading through the entire thread I wish I would have stepped in to offer some suggestions and put a stop to the bashing by some of our regular members, whether their insight and/or opinions were right or not, there are ways of posting feedback to make it more positive than negative, as in you asked for help, not to be bashed and discouraged.

This forum is a place to get help and encouragement, not bash-fest.

After reading the entire thread I am impressed with your professionalism and how you maintained a positive attitude in all your replies.

I have a few questions:

1. The Lamborghini SV is in Matte White. I have no experience with Matte colors. I'm gonna assume that it's the same process as washing a normal vehicle, clar bar. But polish, compound, glaze, sealant and wax wise - I have no clue on this. What are your thoughts?

2. Some of these cars have vents etc etc all over and am afraid to get water in there - this can be an expensive damage. The ZR1 owner told me to NOT get water into his carbon fiber hood. How do you proceed with this?

3. The Porsche Carrera GT has been clear bra-ed all over the car - the whole car! Would detailing on a clear bra be the same procedure as a normal car?

4. Some of them prefer house calls. This is a "weekend warrior" type of job for me. Would they prefer me to use my own water or etc etc? Or can I work things out with them on using their water? I'm not mobile as well.

5. There are swirls on the pinstripe of the Viper ACR. Would the same procedure of detailing a car be on the same on stickers/pinstripes?

Again, great work on these cars, you have likely gone a long ways to create a very good reputation for yourself and this should spill over to good word-of-mouth advertising.

I didn't post but as I was reading responses and then your replies I went back and read your original post again. Your questions were very specific and in my limited experience were things most of us do not encounter on a daily basis. Anyway sorry you had to go through that and way to keep your cool. Let your work do the talking. Again nice job.

My thoughts exactly. IMO, any "bashing" was offered somewhat constructively as warnings that bad things could happen if one isn't experienced with high-end vehicles. It sure appeared that might be the case. I also had no experience or recommendations on those specific issues either.

I'd be interested in knowing what methods were used on the matte white car and the products used on the inside of the Porsche wheels and how they turned out.

Nice job kid. If we all listened to our detractors....There would be no man on the moon, space shuttle, Lamborghinis :D ( ask Mr. Ferrari about that one) or even a Mike Phillips. You have the abilities, you were asking for some guidance and got a pretty good beat down by some people.
Nice perserverance. Well done.
 
Great job man!!! I followed your first thread. While some were a little harsh, others didn't want you to make an expensive mistake w/o insurance. Which is good advice.

What polishes and waxes did you end up using on each car? I love that Maserati
 
I too congratulate you on some scoring some of the finest cars on the planet. From what I can see you possess a wee bit more skill and patience that others your age and it shows.

What chemicals are you using on those cars?

Rotary or DA or both?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Considering his last thread was in the Auto Detailing section, and this is the Show and Shine forum I think it's placed, and made perfectly. He could have asked the mods to move the previous, but whats the point, ya know?

I too would like to know your process, and products.
 
Just Curious why your waxing the Brake Caliper cover before you have cleaned the wheel well... Seems out of order in my opinion.
 
Nice results, but you seriously need some direct sun shots to show correction or list the procedure and products like others have mentioned.

Other than that, I think you did a great job!
