Ever got a Mytee Serviced before?!?!?

Hey guys.... ran into what looks to be a great deal on a Mytee Speedster ..... model goes for 1500 new , this one is 5 years old and is said to work great. Told the guy 300 cash as long as it works good.... he accepted.

So of course one of my concerns is the age. Can you get these completely overhauled if need be..... and if so how much?!?!? Any experience with this guys!?!?!?

Cause I just dumped 700 on the steamer and the speedster is much more powerful. I had a mytee lite 2 for a long time and it was great..... but if I can buy this and refurbish it (which it may not even need) for under 600 - I now would have a bad*** extractor for a descent price. Then again I have no clue how much it would cost to get one overhauled or "tuned up".
 
I know that you can purchase the parts for a mytee. I just don't know if there's a place that would service them. Especially a local place.

I know in my area...I tried finding a place that would repair an older extractor that I have. I found one place that said they could fix it, so I brought it in. They called me and said it was all set. I paid them their $75...took it back to my shop only to find out it was exactly the same!

I called and complained, and they said there's nothing else they could do. So when I asked what exactly costed $75 then? They said that they flushed out all my hoses, and changed my filters. Which still looked dirty by the way! Plus, that's not what I asked them to do, ha.

Basically what I'm saying is...I've had problems getting extractors repaired.

HHHMMMM ..... sounds like a brick in the window situation to me! Well..... not looking good after that response, maybe I'll call up Mytee and see how much they charge - probably not cheap.

Look for a small appliance repair shop in your area

The extractor wasn't putting out very much psi at all. It was just kinda lightly spraying. I had already tried a vinegar clean out...it did nothing. I think the pump was just gone. It was that Powr Flite I was telling you about. Thing was junk anyways. I still have it sitting around.
 
Sounds like it is the pump not working. Most of the times is better to get another extractor than buying another pump because they are pricey almost like buying a new extractor.

But if the pump is cheap I'm pretty sure is not hard to fix even I can fix it :)
 
I have a Mytee Spyder, proabbaly three years old, had to replace a switch on the vacum and called a place in Kansas I found just googling replacement parts and they sell extractors, parts, and do service work. Guy was very nice and got my part shipped out the same day. PM me for details of the company if you are interested.
 
Yeah I found a place where they sold Mytee and also repair them around where I live. Either go to their site and type in your zip code to see if there is any around you.

That place was only 10 mins away from my house.

I need to search for a place like that around here - Just one of the many things that I forget to do each day lol.

I had the pressure switch on my Mytee Spyder (Surflo) pump go out mid detail last month. I took the switch apart, googled the part number and found one for about $7 shipped here:

I've had to tear my Mytee apart several times to fix it.

All in all is it a good unit in your opinion?!?!?
 
I have a Mytee Stinger,rebuilt it and repaired it may times, parts are no problem, We use a lawn mower mechanic at a local rental place to do the work, when we don't have the time to DIY
