Extreme Practice: What I did NOT do to a Chevy POS

Gosh A Great write up....and for the truck...WOW what a differance....

Thanks for sharing an awesome write-up Laura!!! I enjoyed reading every bit of it.

I really hope that you Audi comes out right.

Easily the best writeup I've read since the *beginning* of last year. No smart comment here, just genuinely impressed.

Any pics of Laura herself? I like the reflection shot with the big lens....good hair too... Ok anyway the whole thing is impressive and I like the addition of "I did NOT...." Nicely done.

Excellent writeup Laura. I really enjoyed your writing style and can relate to the S10. I have a GMC Sonoma as a third vehicle (HD/Lowes and dump runs) and bought it second hand. While mechanically the truck is fine, the paint was trashed and I remember doing a full detail in the beginning of the winter (my neighbors and long suffering wife have given up trying to reason with me when it comes to detailing my cars.). I am also convinced that the build "quality" of the Sonoma/S10s are suspect at best. Best of luck with the repairs to your Audi.

Oooh... I'm not sure I trust anyone else to open that can of worms!!

Here I am with Mike P and Audi X2 (Buddy & his lovely wife) at Detail Fest last year.

Laura,
Your skills absolutely amaze me. Keep the write-ups coming.

I think Laura is such a great asset to this community and an inspiration not only to other women, but to all who desire to do this level of work.

AWESOME work Laura...you made Paw Paw Proud! I can only imagine how many HOURS that took. Your write up and pics prove that you can make a change for the better with a lot of work and effort.

That last picture makes you think you are looking at a brand new truck.

Did the guy faint when you returned him his restored "like brand new" condition Chevy truck?

Really nice to see people appreciating and doing nice things for others! Thanks for sharing.

Nice work! Great write up. You also hold your camera correctly. What type of camera?

Thanks, Bill! You are very kind! You can do anything well that you put a lot of time and passion into. I could never make any money doing this; it takes me forever. I'm amazed by the guys on here that can do what I did, much better, in about 8 hours.

Yes, he was thrilled. He said he'd never seen it looking so good. Of course, he also said he thought it was a total waste of my time since it was going to continue to sit outside and get abused. He did tell me I could practice wet-sanding on the hood if I wanted!!

My real points came from his dad who is much more in to cars and motorcycles than he is. He thought it was awesome - taking pictures of it and everything. I loved his comment: "Son, you better hold on to the woman who can do that to your truck!"

Nice work! Great write up. You also hold your camera correctly. What type of camera?

Thank you. It's a Nikon D40; the very first one they came out with when they started making DSLR's for the masses. Photography is another one of those hobbies that I could really love if I had the time and money. Every now and then I get the fever, but I quickly get disappointed in my ability.

Wow, excellent job on the truck! Great job on the write-up too.

Sorry to see the Audi.
