This truck is eleven years old with 116 k on the clock. It’s been used as shop truck and plows snow as well.

Last year I gave it a light cut and it held up great. Made this year much easier!

Did the standard chemical and mechanical decontamination.

Did the cut with CBEAST and ceramic coated the paint using Dr Beasley’s Z1.

Then used Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Coating to level out all the high spots caused by the Z1.

Pictures!

Just completed the Z1.
Haven't applied the Pinnacle Surface coating yet.

Wow nice turn around. Is this truck washed in between annual visits? Just curious.

Wow, that thing was ridden hard and put away wet.

Awesome job making it look like a truck again, Tommy.

Nice job !!!! Not sure about you but when I saw the scaffold.... all I thought about was how much reaching, bending, and twisting to get the truck to look the way it does now.

I was hurting big time. Got a pinch in the back and my right knee gave out with tennis elbow to boot!

Took me 3 or 4 days to recover.

Oh...gotta do the self portrait!

It’s a mirror now and I’m happy with results!!

That paint looked super dehydrated and dull. It looks dripping wet and new now, though.

How in God's name did Methuselah learn how to use a cel phone cam???

Just kidding, Tommy! ;)

I was on site doing a job (wash, clay, and seal) a weeks ago... a neighbor came over and asked me if I could look at his black Ford F-150 SuperCrew cab. Took one look at that monster and I ran like a little girl. LOL

I feel your pain and I do know how much efforts it takes. You did great. I would have to lay in bed for a week after a job like yours.

Geez Paul, that's one damn big word! Lol...

After all that---I did feel like I was 969 years old!

Wow, what a beast! You've got that Tuxedo black popping! Flake is exploding! Well done on that monster!

You could pull it off easy.
Done a one step last year.
It was soooo fast and done in 4 hours!

This year, thought try a one step ceramic. It did not play nice----soooo hard to pull off the Z1!
Had to use the Pinnacle to clean up the high spots.
This took me 8 hours to pull off.

My Take? On big working trucks---Keep it simple and just get Speed or Blackfire One Step!

Until that Z1 becomes easier to wipe off, I'll never use it on a big truck!

I totally agree on 3D Speed and Blackfire one step. Majority of my work consist of one step.

This was a black swirled out 2016 and he wanted corrections. :wowwow:

If I have a partner and not a one man operation or 20 years younger...I would consider it. BTW.... being only 5'7" certainly dont help. LOL

Thanks for the honest feedback on the Z1! I nearly picked up a tube when it’s hype train rolled in. Wanted to wait to hear more, mainly about how it behaves as far as bird bomb/water spot etching; hearing it’s potential to be finicky moves it down on my list of stuff to try.

As a hobbyist, I’ve only got so much time to play in the garage, and when I’m out there - it’s gotta be fun! (Or at least stress reducing, not stress inducing. )

And awesome work on all that square footage!!! :props:

I really, really wanted the Z1 to work! The One step to end all one steps...

Soooo hard to wipe off. I get way more exhausted with this one step polish than doing multi steps.

This is my third try...I'm getting ticked off and disappointed!

Doing a straight polish, then a panel wipe and apply ceramic coating would be so much easier and much faster!

Tom

Note: In all fairness to the Z1 product---This is a new ground breaking product!

I know the race is now on who will come up with an easy to wipe off one step ceramic product.
And it won't be long either!!!
