About the only "mainstream" celebrities I've met were Wynton Marsalis and his brother Branford; other than that most of the ones I've met and/or worked with are celebrities within the jazz music community that about 99% of you wouldn't know.

When I was a Federal cop I was assigned to the security details of a number of politicians, celebrities, foreign diplomats and royalty. Doing that I met two Presidents...George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Mrs. Marilyn Quayle, VP Al Gore, a number of Congressmen and Senators, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlo Thomas, former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger, Sam Donaldson of ABC News, and during the 50th Anniversary NATO meeting in DC I escorted the daughter of some Greek minister. I don't remember her name but she was gorgeous.

When I was a kid, my dad owned a newspaper and met many, many politicians and celebrities. I have his collection of autographed photos of many of them...John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, George Burns, Bob Hope, J. Edgar Hoover, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan both as Governor of California and as President, and many others.

It's interesting to note of all the people I met or my dad met, how personable many were and how supremely arrogant and pompous others were. You can't always tell by how they appear on tv or the movie screen.

I was in the same boat and was on many security details. Former President Clinton was very personable but a security nightmare as he shook hands, kiseed babies, signed autographs and gladhanded many people before boarding a plane.

At the time Senator Clinton was very direct, to the point and completely in touch with security protocols. Point A to B with minimal fuss.

Former President George H.W. Bush, many members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices, foreign dignataries.

Others were: Ashanti, Steve Carell, Jack Palance, Sherman Helmsley, Stevie Wonder, Joan Rivers, and various WWF wreslers (I apologize I do not follow that)

Richard Petty
Kyle Petty
Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Geoff Bodine
Bill Elliot
Harry Gant
and many more from the 80's and 90's in NASCAR
Kenny Bernstein
and baseball great Brooks Robinson

Roy Rogers and John Wayne
