Ok .... I will admit it. I am a car nut and consider even the smell of raw gas to be intoxicating. So since I could not catch this movie in the theatres I grabbed it this week at CC. (Coupon in Motor Trend saves 3.00 making it a 9.99 new dvd locally)
Well, the story is corny. Who Cares ??? I saw a Viper .... I saw a Mustang Fastback .... I saw a Wide-Body RX-7 and more than 20 other toys from Japan and the far east. There was an old Maibu/Cutlass G-body also. Other than adding smell-o-vision I was good for the 1 1/2 hour fest and walked away satisfied not at the movie, but at the stars, the cars that is.
The final closing scene is not to be missed. It paid homage to the original movie and also to muscle cars in general. GTX baby .... and I wont spoil the driver. Lets just say ... Id watch a 4th if they are so inclined. Not since Smokey and the Bandit have cars been the real stars of the show. (well that one 60 second remake). I hear a modern day Bullitt and Vanishing are trying to get to market, and I am ready.
Bring on the car movies .....and to make this detail related, damn the gloss on that orange/black wide-body RX-8 was nice. I dont think it was really NXT
