Favorite Chemical Guys Product(s)?

That is usually how they do their marketing. If you look at their website most of the stuff they blow out of proportion. Yeah girls in Bikinis are nice, but when it comes to a product I like when it has good reviews backing the product up, and a good description of the product.

So has anyone tried the Optical Polishes?

I have, and the v38 is right on par with 85rd and po106fa, but with zero dust.

Thanks for the reply. I think i might give these a try since I am actually low on compounds and polishes. Zero or low dust is what I am looking for :xyxthumbs:

Btw nice arsenal of detail products in your avatar!

I have the Citrus Wash & Gloss, but I don't find it slick at all. I like it though.

Favs are jetseal(great reflection smoothness and durability) blacklight(smooth and great shine)50 50 wax( easy to work with great reflection very durable) v7(amazing orange creamcicle smell amazing gloss and water beading)

are you sure Jetseal is "durable"???

I properly washed, clayed, polished, erasered and put TWO coats of Jetseal between two days (with 1 day of curing even though it says it only needs 15-20 minutes)

a month later when I washed the car, the slickness was gone, the beading was probably 75% gone but and it started to sit on the paint and some signs of sheeting...

that was just MY experience with jetseal on a prepped fresh surface...

I was "fooled" into thinking it was a really good sealant with the over-hyped description and the high price tag, $40 for $16 (reg$53.52 Sale Price: $38)
Honestly for the same amount of product and price, if I could do it all again I would get use the $38 to get 16oz of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant instead...the funny thing is after reading other forum reviews, people rave about how awesome it is and durable but it wasn't in my experience.

anyone else who used JETSEAL before have any feedback, experience same as mines, better, worst, please share!Feed back please

I would like to see some good reviews of the new optical polish's from long time Menzerna users before I bite though. Chemical guys have never made a good polish IMO. Great paint cleaners, but I have never liked there polish's. I have been hearing great stuff about there optical polish's though.

I have used Menzerna since superfinish was po106fa and po1066f.

You will like the optical polishes (they do not dust).

I don't have the time to write reviews, but will buy v38 and v36 from you if you don't like them.

You have it in writing in this post.

I'm so confused. Here's the cut and paste from the citrus wash clear and also gloss. The clear appears to be the one that says safe for waxes so I feel like this could be my weekly wash in between waxes, and the gloss says that it leaves the paint ready for wax. What am I missing? Which one do you use for a weekly wash and which one as a wash/wax remover before waxing.

Maximizes gloss without stripping wax or sealants!

Do the CG optical polishes use DAT or SMAT?

wash and gloss

and

wash and clear

can both be used as maintenance wash's at the correct dilution.

wash and gloss adds gloss,

wash and clear does not add gloss.

wash and gloss is not PH neutral at maintenance diltuion although it will minimize wax deterioration.

wash and clear IS PH Neutral at maintenance dilution and will preserve wax better than washngloss.

Both product will strip wax at 2oz per gallon dilution ratio.

Excellent answer!!

I need to edit that .

looks as if both wash and gloss and wash and clear will add gloss.

the main difference is that wash and clear is an emulsion that does not to be mixed up AND is also PH Neutral.

Wash and Gloss will seperate. and will also add more gloss than WashnClear. WashnGloss is NOT PH Nuetral no matter what dilution.

IMO Wash and Clear is the better product. It does not need to be mixed up and can be used as a maintenance wash at a ridiculous ratio.

I have used washnclear, but not Washngloss.

Wash and clear is the modern version and a better product overall from what I can see.

The real issue here is that there is an even newer version that use's only 1oz per gallon to strip and is an even better emulsion and rinse's easier when used at LSP stripping dilutions. That product is simply CITRUS WASH. Its an orange perfect emulsion that does not need shaking and works great. AG should get this shampoo.

The issue with washngloss and washnclear is that you need to rinse VERY WELL when using them at stripping dilutions. they tend to be really slimy at that ratio IME (Atleast washnclear). Citrus wash does not have ANY of these issues, which is why I buy it buy the gallon. It will easily wipe away any nuba wax clean off the finish. and with 2 applications will help remove the majority of a sealant.

I know this may all sound confusing but thats the name of the game when dealing with chemical guys. You just have to trust in the products and the good part is that basically every product no matter how confusing the similar offerings, work great and are a bargain.

I would post a picture of my citrus wash, but it has the suppliers name on the bottle where you can purchase it. I think the right thing to do would be to allow Autogeek the time to see the thread and supply the forum with the product first.

The name of the product is -Chemical Guys CITRUS wash-

For some reason its not on the CG website either. you can google it and the 6th hit will bring up the product. :)

You guys are dead on. I own all three citrus based washes and when I asked what the difference were I received a similar response from Chemical Guys.

I love the smell of CW&G but the plain citrus wash definitely feels less slick/slimy when stripping wax.

Personally I like the Glossworkz soap better for maintenance. The autogeek price is a lot better than the CG website price so i'll have to pick some more up one day.

It's great.... Not a miracle product like some think it is meaning, you don't just wipe it on and the waterspots magically come of... You have to really work it for tough spots

Def worth having for the times you need it

Thanks for getting back to me, I will try it out.

CG's Microfiber Wash is fantastic! For fun, shake the bottle a bit and watch the product spiral like a twister! My kids thought it was pretty cool.

Both Nonsense an Grime Reaper seem to marketed as APCs. Is there overlap, or is Grime Reaper just considered 'Heavier Duty'?

From what I read, it's kind of like the Meg's APC+ vs Super Degreaser discussion...the latter being 'heavy duty'.

I tried Stripper Scent today with nice results. I dare ask if its not ALL scents mixed together. There seems to be "fresh" and "vanilla" amongst other notable scents in there.

Wife asked why my trunk now smells so nice, and I said thats were I sprayed the stripper.
