Favorite must have general paint polish?

Mike
What area of the country do you like better-- to live in
South Fl. or So Cal??
Pardon the hi-jack post please

He's right...
Thanks. I appreciate it.

it's not 5 products it's 5 steps starting with
washing and ending with maintain for step 5
That’s correct. :props:

You know how he is
just let him be the smartest
And then you have to go and
mess it all up. Again.

He's right but it's not 5 products it's 5 steps starting with washing and ending with maintain for step 5

Who said anything about 5 products?

Ultimate polish has fillers it doesn't really get the job done it just hides defects

You’re wrong on this 1. I’ve used Ultimate Polish many times and it permanently removes swirls if that’s what your goal is.

You’re saying you’ve never heard of
Meguiar’s 5-Step paint care system?

Bob

I’ve heard of it. I’ve done it. Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, Compound in the maroon bottle, and the Deep Crystal pure polish. All by hand, I spent 3 days in my garage doing it way back in 2007.

While it's true that in the old days Meguiar's
called their compounds and polishes "cleaners",

they have modernized their terminology to
match most of the general use of general terms.

An excerpt from the above thread:

Removing Below Surface Defects

"Paint cleaning, not to be confused with washing,
is the process of removing below surface defects.

This is accomplished with a Meguiar's Paint Cleaner
or Compound Product. These products contain a
modern, advanced, mild abrasive technology to
help deep clean & level the paint."

Well M205 is neither a paint cleaner or a compound. Read the label, it’s a Finishing Polish. So you’re wrong, Joaquin. Lol.

No, I am not wrong.

RE: Meguiar’s Vernacular
M205 is a paint cleaner.

To paraphrase:
“It’s what’s inside the bottle that determines
its function...not the label on the bottle.” ~MP

Keep bloviating; it's FUN watching
your attempts at trying to pass-off
your misguided harangues as being
fact based.

You're like the gift that keeps on giving...

No, I am not wrong.

Says the guy who’s favorite “polish” is a glaze...

You’re also 1 of the people who believe leather conditioners attract dust, huh? Durp, wrong again, proved that’s not true.
But yea, you’re not wrong. It’s all good, Fun.

Even if Bob is "technically" right on Meguiar's vernacular, his post is also "technically" pretty obnoxious.

Just put him on ignore..It's one of the first things i did when i signed up here... you won't regret it..trust me. LOL

So is M205 still considered a good finishing polish before you add your LSP?

SO..... based on the above given definition, "Paint cleaning, not to be confused with washing,
is the process of removing below surface defects”... any product that has the means of removing defects no matter the severity is a “cleaner.” That includes any polish and/or compound regardless of what is written/labeled on the bottle. To me it sounds like “cleaner” was used in a broad manner and as Mike stated, has since been replaced with the actual specifics to which each individual product is or does i.e polishes, compounds, etc. That said, m205 is then a cleaner... but so is every other compound/polish out there by that definition... including 3M IHG.
