Favorite shampoo for weekly washes?

I like DG 901. The suds and lubricity are amazing, especially for the price.

I was using NXT for a long while. Then I purchased some Detailers Auto bath shampoo and that seems to work nicely. I now have Wolfgang auto bath. Not sure there is much of a difference between the latter, both are more concentrated and offer some greater foaming then the NXT. However, ultimately, I am not sure there is really a huge difference between either three. As long as there are suds, its ph balanced, and gentle, I think car washes come down to personal preference.

I've used BF and Pinnacle. Liked both, then found some stuff here locally(prevette's) and like it even better and much cheaper.

I'm more picky about how the product rinses and dries down, and I've not found anything better than Duragloss 901 on my own car. I find very few water spots and if I'm in hurry a post-wash topper is not even necessary.

Other washes I've tried almost always require an additional step for one reason or another.

I have lots:

  • Optimum - overall (smell, suds)
  • XMT Car Wash
  • DDJ Born to Be Mild

I like CG CW&G on wheels.

used megs hyper wash today for the first time. :dblthumb2: WOW! long lasting foam with cleaning ability and lubricity. sold. this will be my go to wash from now on.

the maxi suds came a bit over rated for my liking. i mean its alright...smells awesome, but i prefer others...

poorboys super slick and suds, and the DG 901, and ONR also if your looking to put rinse-less washes in there.

I have to agree. Maxi Suds is a bit over rated. There are some better alternatives out there.

I have CG Maxsuds, Honeydew, Citrus wash, glassworkz and Mr Pink. I use Maxsuds the most....just to get rid of it and clear some room :D Honeydew and Citrus are my favorites for weekly washing.

I just do not think it works that well at the dilutions that CG claims. If you use more soap more bucket, it improves a lot.

For weeklg washes I now use ONR Version 3. So much quicker than hose washing and leaves a just been qd'ed look on the paint. Looking forward to ONR with wax. ONR is also great for winter washing in the garage while using a boars hair brush on a pole to keep the hands dry and warm.

If it has been a while since my last wash and the cars is too dirty for ONR, these are my favorite traditional washes:

Optimum ($30 per gallon)
Griots ($40 per gallon)
Ultima ($60 per gallon but so concentrated probably similar in cost to Optimum per wash)
Duragloss (cheapest of all mentioned and can be purchased locally so you save with shipping)

All four are great, hard to rank one over the other.

- Poorboy's World Super Slick & Suds
- Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss

I'll also add a cap full or less of ONR into the bucket as well.
