I'm ready to purchase a Hot Water Carpet Extractor and am torn between the Aztec Hot Rod and the Duramaid Super 1600.
They both heat the water to 200f. But the Aztec has over 100" of vacuum lift. The Duramaid 1600 does not advertise the vacuum lift capacity?
The $100 difference between the 2 machines is NOT the deciding factor as I am just looking at which (out of these) one perform's the best.
I am leaning to the Aztec (100" of lift) but also like the clear (see thru) Lexon attachments from the Duramaid1600, to see the dirt being picked up (show's when carpet is actully clean).
Also the Duramaid 1600 has a vacuum (suction) reducer to dial down when cleaning headliners.

I really am torn between these 2 units and would appreciate some feed back from all you AG Forum members,PLEASE Feed back please

I've never used either of these, Ive always used a Mytee Lite - but did just research these.

I think the filter bag in the ?Duramaid? is pointless unless you plan on extracting without vacuuming first - which would certainly ruin the extractor anyway. Why that is such a huge selling point for it Im not sure?!?!

I personally always thought the see through plastic wands looked cheaper and would be less durable than the stainless steel wands. You don't need to see dirty water coming up through the wand to see if the carpet is clean IMO.

Headliners - I wouldn't spray water up there to begin with personally - wouldn't want it soaked at all. So don't understand why that is a selling point either with a vacuum turn off switch.

Didn't see anyone on here respond yet, so thought I'd put my .02 in. But again, I haven't used these - but I criticized what I could from what I saw. Hope this helps?!?!?!

Plus IMO PSI is by far the determining factor for me in an extractor..... I would dish out the extra bill or two and get a Mytee Lite II if possible.

Well, I can tell you this. I had your very same dilemma. I was going to get the Durrmaid. I didn't even know about the Aztec. After reading comparisons, and getting feedback on the forum. I was lead to the Aztec by a large margin. Apparently the Durrmaid can be faulty.

I bought the Aztec, but it's for my mobile van, which is still a work in progress. Wish I could review it for you...but I just took everyones advice on this one.:dblthumb2:

I think it was this very thread that swayed me.
