So this weekend I wanted to clean up the RAV and to also try out a couple of products.

The car wasn't in bad shape except it was very dirty but nothing more, a few swirls but nothing worth showing.

Rinsed off well then foamed it down with Mr.Pink then rinsed well and washed using 2BM.

Meg's D151

On the hood the paint wasn't flawless, a couple of very light scratches which I couldn't pick up to show you guys, very faith.
Took out the rotary using an 8" 3M finishing pad along with the D151.
Like Meg's says on their description you can control the cut just by changing the pad to your needs,it's very creamy, spreads like butter and cuts well, no not as aggressive as a compound like 105 but it wasn't needed, with only three passes the defects were gone, did an ISP to check out the performance of the 151, it passed.
I was surprised how well it wiped off, very, very easy, I could have did the entire car and leave it at that but it wasn't needed, the D151 is an all in one so I plan on using whenever I feel the need, a little goes far.

For those of you that never used it you may want to give it a try, it's pink, looks sort of like a lotion my wife has. Lol

The main thing I wanted to do was jewel the paint which I did using my rotary and the 3M Ultra Fine Polishing pad along with the 3M Ultrafine Polish, great combo.
Buffed at 600 RPM's and slowly moved the machine, very gentle like.
Is it worth the time and effort to jewel your paint? Depends if you want the best possaible shine you can get my polishing.
Once done with the jeweling I took a short break and took out some Meg's m21 sealant, I have the WGPS but wanted to do a comparison of the two.
Have to admit the two are very close in giving you a great shine, looks the same when done, did find out you have to buff a little more than using the WG but I couldn't see a difference between the two of them, the m21 is cheaper so if you need or want a good sealant at a good price then you may want to buy you a bottle of the m21.

Here's how it turned out.

The hood.

The roof that hasn't had some love in a while.

Next up was the windshield , had some water spots I wanted to remove , not many but trust me they were there:)

DP High Performance Glass Restorer.

I used my Griot's 3" pad holder, if you don't have one you must buy one, saves on your hands, helps from crapping.
Put a 3" orange Griot's pad onto the pad holder, a few drops the the DP and rubbed hard in circular motion, worked it well until it hazed up then buffed off, spots all gone.
I'm telling you it was that easy:dblthumb2:
Cleaned the glass again using Meg's Glass cleaner then applied the m21 to the glass , I let it cure an hour, just as on the paint.
I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Next up dressing the tires.

For this I used the Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel.

Wow what a great product, it only takes very little to dress a tire.
I applied it using a Purdy soft bristle paint brush.
When I say a little goes a long way I mean a "Little".
It goes on very easy, I applied three coats and this is how they turned out.

The wheels also got some of the m21:dblthumb2:

I honestly don't have any cons on the products I listed, all great products.

Thanks for looking:dblthumb2:

Good job and nice write up. First picture nice and sharp, second not so much.

Yep, gotta' watch that "crapping" when you're doing your windshield.... takes forever to get off!Im the MAN:laughing:Im the MAN

But seriously, I'm glad you liked the products dude. I had forgot I sent you the DP Glass Polish. Had I thought about it when I was sending them I could have sent you a bottle of the PBL glass sealant. (You'd have to send it back afterwards though. Too much trouble to pour a couple ounces off.);)

If you want to try the M21 that's been polycharged I could send some of that, but it'd have to be overnighted because it'll start to gel up fairly quickly. I don't really notice any difference in gloss between it 'straight' and 'charged' at least not on my metallic paints, but on your SS black it may actually show up a bit different.
But the durability of one verses the other is evident.

Ohhhhh I forgot to ask you yesterday, did the Collinite make it without leaking everywhere? That one was an afterthought and I ended up with it all over my hands, hence it being in a baggie!

Once that M21 cures for a day or so, you can top it with the M26. :D It'll freaking POP!:dblthumb2: That is one of my favorite combo's going back longer than anything else I have.

How much of the Opti-Bond was left? I've literally been working with a bottle that size in my "trunk bag" for months! You'll love the durability of it, really love it.:props: I've got some DP Tire Gel (was a freebie gift) but running out of small bottles. Honestly it's not in the same league. Also have some Blackfire gel and it's between the two.

I'd love to come down this spring if we can work it out here, told the wife we could stop by Biloxi one night (if we go in March) and see Tommy James and the Shondells! Crimson and Clover over and over, crimson and clover over and over crimson and clover over....

Now you'll have that song stuck in your head all day!

@Cardaddy.

I meant cramping. Lol

Sorry forgot to mention you gave me all those cool samples:(

I still have enough Opti bond to do my tires twice, man is that stuff good.
Didn't have any issues to remove it from the windshield , maybe I'm just that good. Lol
The Perl worked very well for me also, 3-1, interior looks great:)
The Collinite was fine, was thinking of using it next weekend to top the m21, would that be OK?

I told my wife I'd like to visit you in April, take a week off , that way we can find a car to do, just have some fun, I should be fine by then.
What you think?
12 hour drive for me unless I'd fly.

Thanks again for all of the samples:)

How many pads do you need to do a windshield?

The tires look great. I've been applying the Opti Bond with a sponge but I'll have to try a brush. How long did you let it dry between coats?

Thanks.

I applied a coat every hour.
The brush really works well for you.

I only used one pad being it was only the windshield.

Gotta love D151, my go to AIO. :D

And M21 is really nice also. :)

Looks real nice. Your paint has almost no orange peel, is it factory?

Yes it's factory and almost no orange peel to speak of.
It looks super nice today but in two days not so good. Lol
Owning a black car gives you a hobby, like it or not, it's a hobby. Lol.

I remember how much you love the 151:dblthumb2:

Tony was nice enough to send me the products to try so I thought I might as well write a review.

He also sent me some Meg's Yellow Wax which I plan on trying on my truck being I sealed it two weeks back, maybe even the Collinite which is regarded as a high end durable wax.

Even though this car is a DD it was worth the extra effort to jewel it, what a difference it made, I told my wife this is the best the RAV ever looked, she agreed.

Now I just have to maintain it.

I found this out too! Optimum is more of a gel, when you wipe it on with a paint brush, it bubbles and looks bad at first, but it comes out nice and I feel lasts alot longer this way. You also use alot less product

You are certainly welcome my friend. :props:

Yeah that Opti-Bond is killer stuff.

Oh, you used the PERL also. Very cool. :) That and 303 I like a lot.

Honestly, I'd put that M26 on top of it. The thing about Collinite is it's more of a solvent based product (as you can tell by how horribly strong the smell is) and I think it will compromise the M21. The Colli' will last a LOOOOOOTTTT longer, but wouldn't look the same, nowhere near. On that black SS paint M26 is stellar.

April could work great. Both our birthdays are the second week in April, one day apart actually. (Always said the Good Lord made her just for me.) ;) She gets like 6 weeks of vacation so she spreads it out all over the year.

Yeah it's a long drive for sure. I mapped it out into Ville Platte and it's shorter on 85/10 versus 20/55 then coming down through Natchez, says 9 hours 15 minutes on I-85/I-10. I was telling her perhaps if we could, maybe either up or down we'd layover down on the gulf for a night or two. Maybe that one we could wait till it got warmer? :dunno:

Door is always open here, plenty of room, lots of it I never even go into. (Like the basement.... game room, gym, another kitchen, office and another bedroom down there that I never go into, like hardly EVER.)

I'm sure I could round up a car around here. That'd be a ton-o-fun. Bet we could find at least 1 or 2 other "Geeks" that might want to make a day of it. Grab a cooler full of "Mud Puppies" and bring with ya'. OMG what a party! ;)

I would go with the M26 on the Black, you will love it. :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs:

You can use M135 for maintenance also to boost the M26.

OK so I'll top it with the m26 this coming weekend, the shine I have now is incredible already. :dblthumb2:
Man am I tired this morning after all that jeweling but it was worth it.

No no, let's find a Vette:)

This was a very nice review. I like how you used a wide variety of products. D151 is definitely the top product when it comes to AIO's.

As far as M21 being similar to WGDGPS 3.0, all I can say is "i told you so". I reviewed both products head to head back in January of last year. Im not suprised one bit that you had similar results as I. They look the same in looks, clearly.

That Opti-Bond tire gel looks really promising. I might have to try it sometime!

Bill, If you'll get a pair of those Carrand Tire Brushes, none of the "bubbling" will be there.

As I told Kevin, one little bead on the brush and work it around the tire, then another little bead and you'll have more than enough. Really works out thin and goes a long way.

Then it lasts f-o-r-e-v-e-r. :dblthumb2:

Doggone it! I forgot to send him some M135! Oh well, we can use it when he gets up this way, perhaps come Crawfish season. :D
