So this weekend I wanted to clean up the RAV and to also try out a couple of products.
The car wasn't in bad shape except it was very dirty but nothing more, a few swirls but nothing worth showing.
Rinsed off well then foamed it down with Mr.Pink then rinsed well and washed using 2BM.
Meg's D151
On the hood the paint wasn't flawless, a couple of very light scratches which I couldn't pick up to show you guys, very faith.
Took out the rotary using an 8" 3M finishing pad along with the D151.
Like Meg's says on their description you can control the cut just by changing the pad to your needs,it's very creamy, spreads like butter and cuts well, no not as aggressive as a compound like 105 but it wasn't needed, with only three passes the defects were gone, did an ISP to check out the performance of the 151, it passed.
I was surprised how well it wiped off, very, very easy, I could have did the entire car and leave it at that but it wasn't needed, the D151 is an all in one so I plan on using whenever I feel the need, a little goes far.
For those of you that never used it you may want to give it a try, it's pink, looks sort of like a lotion my wife has. Lol
The main thing I wanted to do was jewel the paint which I did using my rotary and the 3M Ultra Fine Polishing pad along with the 3M Ultrafine Polish, great combo.
Buffed at 600 RPM's and slowly moved the machine, very gentle like.
Is it worth the time and effort to jewel your paint? Depends if you want the best possaible shine you can get my polishing.
Once done with the jeweling I took a short break and took out some Meg's m21 sealant, I have the WGPS but wanted to do a comparison of the two.
Have to admit the two are very close in giving you a great shine, looks the same when done, did find out you have to buff a little more than using the WG but I couldn't see a difference between the two of them, the m21 is cheaper so if you need or want a good sealant at a good price then you may want to buy you a bottle of the m21.
Here's how it turned out.
The hood.
Fender.
The roof that hasn't had some love in a while.
Next up was the windshield , had some water spots I wanted to remove , not many but trust me they were there
DP High Performance Glass Restorer.
I used my Griot's 3" pad holder, if you don't have one you must buy one, saves on your hands, helps from crapping.
Put a 3" orange Griot's pad onto the pad holder, a few drops the the DP and rubbed hard in circular motion, worked it well until it hazed up then buffed off, spots all gone.
I'm telling you it was that easy:dblthumb2:
Cleaned the glass again using Meg's Glass cleaner then applied the m21 to the glass , I let it cure an hour, just as on the paint.
I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Next up dressing the tires.
For this I used the Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel.
Wow what a great product, it only takes very little to dress a tire.
I applied it using a Purdy soft bristle paint brush.
When I say a little goes a long way I mean a "Little".
It goes on very easy, I applied three coats and this is how they turned out.
The wheels also got some of the m21:dblthumb2:
I honestly don't have any cons on the products I listed, all great products.
Thanks for looking:dblthumb2:
