Well - finally ordered the steamer Ive been talking about for a couple of months now lol! This is actually how I found the autogeek forum, searching for info on steamers vs. extractors. Finally ordered the VX5000 and should get it in by Weds according to the main man I ordered it from - so I am expecting more like Friday lol...... but I have never used a steamer and am excited to incorporate it into my detailing tools. I will post a review as soon as I play with it!

Anyone have this steamer and have any advice?!?!?!?!?

Look up Bill Walsh. Congrats on the new toy and get to work on the white car :hungry:. Best of luck to you :)

Thanx - and that is exactly what I will be working on lol..... my betterhalf is stoked lol.

I have the VX5000 and love it. It's a great tool to have. Easily gets into the very difficult areas. Not to mention the fact that it sanitizes the interior when used correctly. A great selling point for sure! Especially to people who have very small children.

Steamers are great man. I don't have one like the VX5000 as you know. But a lot of the uses are similar aside from the fact that yours is way cooler, ha.

I love doing engines with mine now. Much safer than a pressure wash, and it does a really good job. I love breaking down stains with it too. I'll spray a little degreaser and agitate the stain, then suck it up with the extractor. Except you won't need the extractor cause yours again...is way cooler. :dblthumb2:

Good stuff man..... is it good on carpets?!?!?

Yeah engine cleaning was a huge selling point for me...... and having to use less chemicals on the interior ( Im starting to really dislike breathing chemicals in )..... can't wait to mess around with it!

I've done a couple interiors with mine, and I really don't care for it. If someone wants a chemical free interior...I will do it. But it's not my style. I like my Tornador and extractor. :D

Another main selling point for me was for use on school bus interiors - I will use alot of product on them to do a good job and the chemicals can at times get overwhelming.... I think it will be well worth on them.

I use chemicals and a steamer. The Tornador is great, but it can take a lot longer than a steamer.

Have you ever use the Tornador after the extractor to help it dry faster?

Should be perfect for school buses, not much fabric in those :)

Sweet - looking forward to using it for that - should hopefully cut down on time..... picking up 7 buses at once very soon - so an hour saved per bus is 7 man hours saved.... stoked about that :dblthumb2:

Looking forward to hearing about this.I have had my eye the VC4000C.Any one know or can offer advice on this machine let me know.

Congrats on your purchase B&B!

It's great on carpets, seats, dash boards, or just about anywhere in the interior. Wait till you give it a try on leather! OMG!!!! You can steamclean the leather and it really softens it up, then apply a leather conditioner and the WOW facter just went through the roof. It will take a couple of times using it to "Get the feel" for it. Wait till you see the stuff the "Diaper Wrap" pulls up from your seats and carpet. You may want to start stocking up on white terrycloth towels!

I'm going to be ordering the same machine Anthony! Probably later on today. I have an interior job for a full shampooing and stuff on April 2nd, so if I can get it ordered today and in by then that would be awesome.

I wonder if the steamer will also work on clams and lobsters?

Hmm...now you thinking Bobby! I could have myself a little clam bake while I detail. Might have to give that a try!:props:
