I am considering buying a gallon of FK 425 but want to be sure this product is good for me. My cars are both very dark (black and black sapphire pearl). How does this product shine on darker cars?

The Black Sapphire paint seems to attract dust easily. How well does this product repel dust particles? Lastly, how does FK 425 look over Fuzion or WG 3.0?

Thanks!

For new users, FK425 might take a little getting use to. Especially using in the sun. I only had this problem about two times, but since then it is my favorite quick detailer and clay lubricant. It gives a great look on my Magic Blue Volvo and should give a great look on black. I haven't noticed a huge decrease in how much dust sticks.

Poor boys spray and gloss also pinnacle waterless concentrate with Nuba great! Have two black vehix. I wouldn't buy a gallon of anything till I knew for sure what was best for me. Spray and gloss 16 oz 8 bux, 32oz 16$, not bad to try. I don't go anywhere without my s&g!

I do all of my work in a garage...so the sun will not be an issue.

Does the material wipe off easily?

You will be fine then. I highly recommend reading Troy's review. My one tip is to not over use the product. A little will go a long way.

I read the two reviews found including Troy's.

Got the Shamrock too....wink!

I had trouble with Fk425 on my dark cars (one black, one dark blue).

When it works, it works great. But I frequently got streeaking really badly, and the only way I could get the streaks out was to wash (or sometimes to just LSP) the surface.

Spoke with the fine smart folks here on the AG technical phone line. They suggested cutting the FK425 to a 50% solution with distilled water. That helped, but I'd still sometimes get streaks. and no rhyme or reason to them - sometimes when it was warm, sometimes when it was damp, sometimes not. Happened if a fine mist was applied to the paint, or just to the (good) microfiber. Believe me, I tried everything because I relaly like the way the finish felt when it didn't streak. No pattern I could discern.

That said, when it didn't streak I loved it. I managed to use up a gallon bottle.

Now using UWW+ concentrate for a "cleaning" QD, and BF Midnight Sun QD for finish shine. Really liking the BF.

Backgrounds - cars both have good paint, the FK425 was going over WGDGPS on the black and WGDGPS topped with Pinnacle SSII on the blue.

Andrew,

Were you applying in the Sun?

Maybe too much material....?

I now have some doubts in FK....

If you want swirls on dark paint use a QD. Using a waterless wash (UWWP) would be much safer on dust, not dirt.

I plan to use FK 425 as a drying aid.

Not to aid in moving any type of dirt or dust over the paint.

I love it as a drying aid. My drying towel glides so smooth, even on a waxless surface

Thought of those. It wasn't application in the sun, and not too much product. In fact, one of the most frustrating was putting it on in the garage when the car was cool, thinking it looked great, and then pulling out into the sun later and seeing the streaks. It was more likely to streak on the BMW that had the SSII wax on it. As I explained it to the tech on the phone, it seems like it didn't want to flash correclty off the paint, no matter if I applied it by a light spray onto the paint or by a light mist onto the MF and then applying. They told me that sometimes happened on very specific combinations of LSP and colors, and the dilution would help, which it did.

If I still had any I'd send it to you. I loved how it felt when it didn't streak, and as a drying aid it never streaked (that's pretty much how I ended up using it all up).

And my cars are swirl free. It was product streak, not swirls.

Dusty tires after a drive, but pretty clean:

I appreciate the comments....

Car looks very nice....

So I have done some research and found several folks have switched from FK 425 to Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+ Concentrate.

What is the difference between these products? After a wash, which product is best for the dry and shine?

I have and use both.

UWWP is just that, a waterless wash. So the cleaning ability and lubricity is better. But doesn't leave the same gloss and shine that FK425 does.

FK425 is a dedicated QD that excels for me as a drying aid. I lacks the cleaning ability of UWWP but the gloss and slickness it leaves behind are much better IMO.

been using this stuff for years, great product...

And I found the opposite. I find nothing slicker than UWW (but both are VERY slick, so it's a tight race) and love the look it gives my Lincoln. Even if you call it even, UWW beats it on cost effectiveness.

Hmm...

I will going out this weekend and testing this again. I do like UWWP and agree that based on cost alone it is the clear winner. But I still love my FK425... And the slickness it leaves behind is great.
