Finishing polish for new Audi with very hard paint

I'll toss a wrench into things and suggest you simply get a hold of any number of those good polishes and simply work on the car one panel at a time. I had my Audi jeweled to perfection but it took time. When I first got it, I did the entire car and had it to about where yours is now. From there I used both Menzerna and Meg's products to get it perfected. Lots of great finishing polishes out there and while Audi paint is tough to correct, most of the products will work just fine. Most of the corrections I did were with Meg's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish.

Not gonna lie........I miss PURE black vs Metallic Black.

So I did a couple test spots today, the Sonax seems to be working. It’s a little hard to tell because there was no sunlight today and my LED light is only average but there is a definite improvement at the tape line. I tried a white pad with decent results and an orange pad with better results. Two passes of medium speed heavy pressure low arm speed, then four to five passes at high speed and gradually lower pressure and higher arm speed. Seems to work. I’ll do the whole car in about another month then seal it up for winter.
I would try differently; Spread product QUICKLY for 1 section pass(left to right) at lowest speed, increase speed to max or just below, 4 section passes with good pressure and slower arm speed, reduce speed to medium with another 2 passes, faster arm speed and lighter pressure.

I worked on an Audi Q5 recently with HARD paint and had to wet sand to remove a lot of the deeper defects. It was vandalized with key scratches and it was egged. I followed the wet sanding with FC-717 on a wool + rotary which did leave holograms but it was the only way to remove the sanding scratches. Then MK37 Fast Polish on a DA.

Now that I have a combo down I will probably do a couple tests of different methods, so I can try that. Sonax says heavy pressure for 30 seconds and light pressure for 120, so that's what I tried.

When I did my S5 the paint looked good but it took FG400 and a MF pad to correct and I finished with either 3800 or 4000 (I could not see a difference in finish quality). 2500 and I also tried Adapt but not enough cut. Here are closeup picture of before and after of my hood. My color is quite hard to find the defects on and the closeup was the easiest way.

That looks fantastic. Can you tell me which MF Pad(s) you used?

These are pictures from a 2019 we just had in the shop that was washed 1 time by the dealership. We used Griot’s fast correction cream on a microfiber pad and finished with Griot’s perfecting cream on a yellow perfecting pad.
