Hi,
So over the past several days, I took it upon myself to polish the entire G35 (Black) with Poorboy's SSR2.5 and the orange light cutting pad. Because I have such little experience with the Porter Cable, I was not able to make the car LSP-ready without using a finishing polish. There is still quite a bit of haze and some micro-marring left on the veihcle.
So, I took advantage of the BOGO and bought the Optimum Polish and I have a few questions.
1.) I want to do the whole car with Optimum Polish with a CCS 5.5" White Polishing Smart Pad, and then go to my LSP. Is this okay, or should I use a different color pad?
2.) What is the process of applying Optimum Polish with White Pad (or whatever pad I should be using)? I tried doing the hood like so: applied Opt Polish to half the hood at speed 3 with a white pad, and then worked the polish in at speed 5, using across and up-and-down motions applying little pressure. This turned out to work pretty nicely but maybe I'm using the wrong pad and maybe I still have to work in 2x2 sections?? Again, it came out nice, but not 100%, but I'm thinking that this may be the best I could do because my local machine car wash had raped my car's paint SO badly.
3.) After Optimum Polishing the whole vehicle, I'd like to apply a coat of Duragloss #105 to the vehicle. Should I use a white pad or a green pad?
Thanks,
Emile
