First Impression: Optimum Microfiber Polishing Pads

I have used the finishing pads twice thus far with Hyper Spray Polish(old version) after compounding. Set to 5 on my DA and I have had great results. It removes compounding haze/holograms easily and quickly while finishing down beautifully. I am happy with them thus far.

Great to hear that Jim! I have V1 of the hyper-sprays too. I prefer their new liquid polishes and hope they will work too!

Nick...I couldn't agree more....these polishing pads coupled with hyper polish is off the charts...amazing is the only word...magic in a bottle is a good way to describe...and I'm a BIG Megs MF fan.....I now can use MF discs to finish down and jewel (not just compound)....so my reliance on foam pads now is really only for applying an LSP.

John,

What speed do you use with the HP and OPT MF polishing pad?

Nice :dblthumb2:

I wonder how the OPT Polish II and Finish Polish would work with these pads.

Can someone take a pic of this pad side-by-side with a Meg's finishing pad? Just curious to see how they compare thickness-wise....

I'm ready to read some reviews on these compared to the meguiars microfiber lineup.

I was curious myself. Maybe Mike can compare the Megs, Surbuf and the Optimum for us. I just bought the Surbuf and haven't used them yet.

okay cool cool but nobody answered the question: Why would I swap my 60 foam LC pads and buy 400$ worths of MF pads?

Whats the benefice ? I understand the Optimum is better than meg when used with a rotary. OK COOL. but I want more lol.. I'm not going to put to garbage around 60 brand new pad to mf just for fun..

I'm still new to the MF pads but one advantage I can see is how much faster they can produce the desired results. So saving time and time is money....

Surbuf will out cut the Megs.pads and the Optimum for sure .

That has to be the most ridiculous comment I have read..NO ONE told you to throw away all your foam and replace ALL with MF pads..if you wanna know how they are and how they can help buy 1 and try it..Simple as that a cost of 7bucks

Well if MF pad works better than foam pad, why would anyone, including me, keep using foam pad?

I must of bought over 10k of detailing product in the past 3 years. I don't mind trying things but the company have to give a good reason to try it and in this case, I can't see any.

Simple solution..dont try it..problem solved. No one has a gun to your head

You just don't get the point. The marketing on this product is no-good. This is just an insight to Optimum that they need to work a bit harder on the description/advantage of the new released products.

Usually, optimum does it well and they never release a product just for fun, there's always an innovation behind the product or something new to the industry but, in this case, all I see is a ''following-attitude'' product.

I can't believe they wasted X amount of times on this pad for nothing but tell us why it's better, what it does. I'm highly interesting in everything Optimum release but I feel like : MOOAARRR info please!!

Benefits over foam: Cuts faster, finishes better, stays cooler.

The choice is yours

I don't think Optimum has even said anything about these yet, they weren't supposed to be announced until SEMA (not that Optimum ever says much, they tend to let the products speak for themselves). If your complaining about Autogeek's marketing of the product, what do you expect them to say? "We have a new product from Optimum, no big whoop..."

I'm down for this. there's only one pad tho? no finishing pad, one pad fit all ? that's also neat. no need to buy 4 differents foam pad anymore

See, that's the kind of info missing in the description.
