got my first order of products today :dblthumb2: everything looks great. only the backing plates are missing? cant wait to get started even though its freezing outside in NE Ohio and no heated garage :buffing:

Foam Polishing Pads


Yellow Low Profile Cutting 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and older finishes. Always follow this pad with an orange or white pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth.

Orange Low Profile Light Cutting 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Firm, high density foam for scratch and defect removal. Use this pad with polishes and swirl removers. It’s an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.

White Low Profile Polishing 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Less dense foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners.

Gray Low Profile Finishing 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes.

Blue Low Profile Finessing 5.5 inch Foam Pad – Flat pad has soft composition for applying glaze, finishing polish, sealants, and liquid waxes. Flat pad provides full contact with paint surface to minimize the pressure applied by the user.

Double check in the packing peanuts, the most common reason people "think" they are missing the backing plate is because they are buried or hidden in the peanuts or packing material.

If you cannot find it then call Customer Service and cite this thread,

Thanks every one for the warm welcomes!
I called before I saw this and every thing is taken care of :xyxthumbs: I forgot to mention that the STi is a 2010 and has some serious swirl marks that are even visible in that photo and a few light scratches, its going to need the "works" the truck is a 2013 and only a few weeks old. I don't know how long it sat on the dealer lot but I did notice some water spots after they did a quick was for delivery. I am confident that with the wealth of information in the videos and how to articles already posted by Bobby and Mike the swirls and water spots will be history and both vehicles will have some nice protection. I probably could have started with the flex but I noticed that a lot of people have both anyways so I opted for the failsafe pc :) I have been wanting one for years...
 
Thanks to a frozen garden hose, 32° weather I now have very shiny bathtubs and shower stalls :-) i was forced to stay inside and decided to test out the new PC on the tubs n showers. I'm impressed with the PC overall bit I did notice if I'm not paying attention I tend to stall it with too much pressure. Marking the backing plate will must for this beginner. Now to fix my sore back and left side rib cage... beer!

I live in Edmonton AB and it stays below 32F for a long time. To thaw a hose, fill a rubermade tub with hot water, and let the hose soak for a good 5-10 mins. Comes out clean and thawed.

Knowing pressure comes with time and experience! Nice work!

Omg, now I need the dual bucket wash system,the rest of the color pads I'm missing, maybe one of those da tools they used to sand that red 65'stang in that video, car wash,3,000 and 5,000 grit sandpaper/pads, swirl remover, fine polish, maybe the Dewalt , some wool pads, glass cleaner, a bigger heated garage... just a few things

I did this today high 35° truck was already clean so i just rinsed it with warm water then using DP sealant with grey pad then Colinite with red pad waxed er' up ...

The paint on your truck is gorgeous and I understand the excitement but I would exercise restraint and caution when it comes to wet sanding...

Restorations like the 1965 Mustang are a perfect environment for wet standing because additional coats of color and especially clear can be added easily to accommodate the finish sanding....

Factory Paint

As you wet sand the paint film thickness becomes thinner and thinner until it's gone. Today's factory "film thinness" is only 0.0015 on average so there's not much to work with....Proceed with caution or it's off to the paint shop where you'll really shell out some hard earned cash...
 
Sorry for the confusion, No I won't be wetsanding my new truck!

My WRX STi looks in pretty bad shape next to the truck now, but I'm confident I can get whatever swirls and light scratches it has out with the PC. Actually I can't wait to get started on it.
