Hey all!!! I'd like to start off by thanking everone who posts regularly here. You all have been a big help!!!!
I used my PC today for the first time and snapped some pics. The car is a 1999 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition that I'm donating to charity and I thought I'd get a little PC practice in before I tackle my 2005 Ram QC. My process was:
I used my PC today for the first time and snapped some pics. The car is a 1999 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition that I'm donating to charity and I thought I'd get a little PC practice in before I tackle my 2005 Ram QC. My process was:
WASH
I first mixed up 2 oz of NXT wash in 8 oz of water in the AG foam gun. I applied the foam all over the car and let it dwell while I hooked up the power washer and mixed up a 5 gal. bucket of NXT wash. I then washed the entire car with my Wheel Schmitt. THis thing was DIRTY as it has been sitting for about 4 months. I then spayed the car off with the power washer. I then dried the care with a cheap waffle weave microfiber towel along with a bit of Mothers quick detailer to lube the towel.
Claying
I didn't clay the car because I was to eager to get started with the PC!!!!
PC
I just did the hood for now as I had other "domestic" duties to do....
Here's what I started with....
I used an Edge Green Pad and XMT 2 to start with, but I didn't think it gave me enough cut so I swiched to a yellow pad. I used this much compound, does it look about right?
I quckily realized that I needed a more aggressive compound, but XMT 2 was the strongest I have so I made due...
Halfway done...
Anyone know what the white specks are? They aren't visible unless you get right up to the paint...
That's the best I could do given the materials I have and the short amount of time I had to work with.
I topped this with some XMT glaze and some Liquid Souveran, but alas I didn't snap a picture as I had to return quickly to my chores
.
Thanks again for all your help...
Dave
