SO I have a regular customer who saw a uTube vid on CQUK and HAD to have it. No worries, ordered some up on AG, set up a appointment on a sunny day ( rare here this time of year). Gave the truck a good wash, Iron X, clayed and a good polish with 205. Wipe down with Eraser and went to it. The CQ went on easy enough and seemed to be very even. Buff off was easy with few high spots and they were easy to knock down with the suede MF wipers. Gave it an hour, finial wipe with Reload, mixed 2:1 with DI Water.....customer could not believe his eyes! I've used GTechniq in the past, but I think I may move to CQ - (UK for the Northwest climate).

Gotta say that's dripping wet photo I've ever seen on this forum.

What a canvas, deep mirror shine like no other wow...keep on apply your magic to all paintworks you coat

That looks really good. 2 thumbs up! I might be a little partial to Black Rams though.

I went with GlossCoat for my first coating. I'll be doing my car soon.

I initially had CQUK in my basket but then reread some threads.
How long did you wait before the buff off?

The truck looks fantastic.
You must be a natural, considering the size of the panels you had to work with.

That's a phenomenal finish, Mike! Beautiful work. :dblthumb2:

Dang Mike! Nicely done! Looks incredible.

If you are going to move to CQUK I would also move on with Essence to compliment it.

I haven't used it yet but it makes sense to use as a prep for CQUK and eliminate the need for an Eraser wipedown.

Of course just my .02

Always appreciate the advice Mike!!

That looks amazing. Nice job. I hope I can get my black truck to look that good.

That's one amazing looking truck - and the detailing is amazing too<G>! A lot of what we are seeing (particularly in the reflection picture) is your hard work with the M205, though.

Congrats!

Nice work. You got a lot of practice using CQUK on that beast. How many ml's of CQ did you use? How many total hours on prep, polish, coating, and reload?

Totally don't mind if you don't answer this personal question, but how much did you charge for the polishing and coating?

Firehouse Mike,

Your avatar/logo is very cool. Are you a full-time firefighter, part-time, retired, or do you just have a love for fire:)

One profession where you could theoretically be a full-time firefighter and full time detailer. I would love a 24hr schedule as some Dept's work.

Great job, that truck looks WET! I'll second Mike on the use of Essence. I have used it twice prior to UK and I definitely prefer it over eraser.
If I may give a piece of advice, to help with any high spots, use a second (medium nap) MF after the initial wipe with a suede. Since I've switched to a 2 towel removal, I haven't had any issues with high spots.

Looks awesome! CQUK is tough on black... the video he saw didn't happen to be mine did it?
