My neighbour had me do his new-to-him Corvette last year:

Unfortunately, he took it into the dealership from where he purchased it for an oil change. The technician (so many other descriptive nouns come to mind instead of that word) splattered oil on the RF fender. So, what's he do? Takes his filthy shop rag and goes about wiping the whole thing down. My neighbour saw it happen luckily. He wouldn't let them touch it any further "ya, we can fix that!". First up I washed it using the new CarPro ECH2O. Wow, I love that product! I'll be using that on my Lincoln instead of ONR. For correcting the scratches, I ended up using TLC (The Last Cut) compound for the first time on this car. It took some playing to see how it would work best for me, but I was immediately impressed with this product. Here's the light scratches the tech did:

Here's the unassuming hero:

I followed up TLC with M205 and an orange B/S pad then went to Essence and a white LC pad. I wanted it as stunning as the rest of the car was. It was then double coated with Finest. I then went over the rest of the car with Essence +. Dripping bloody wet.

Exhaust tips were done with Collinite metal wax:

The wheels were done by hand with Essence + too:

Thanks for looking.

Wow great work!

The owner is lucky he caught it quickly, there are too many instances that the owners are not looking and the technicians abuse the car. Luckily the Nissan dealer I take my car to has windows so I can watch everything they do.

Again, beautiful work! Like you said, soaking wet outcome!

Man, you aren't kidding. I don't even like bringing my truck to the dealer let alone a Corvette!!

Awesome job, though man. Corvettes are just a stunningly beautiful car IMO. (But I guess the "tech" doesn't think so...) :/

Thanks Paul! The new ones are the best style ever IMO. I did have a '71 when I was in high school; damn, I miss that car!

Nice recovery, Richie! That's almost worth taking those pictures of the scratches to the Service Manager and showing them ever so politely what the technician never knew he did. then again...why? they'll never learn anyway.

Great save! Glad he told them to stop before a lot more damage was done!! Good work brother!

I have to bring mine in to the dealer. he better not do this, nice job

Nice save Richy... I'm hoping he hit the dealership with a bill.
Oh, yes he did. They were gracious in stepping up. They didn't have to. And, thank you.

Thanks very much! I'm sure the Service Manager will be bringing it to the technician's attention.
Beautiful fix richy.
