So do you like the rupes over the 3401?

Just sold my flex. Rupes 21 here i come.

That was quick. Let us know how you like the 21 when you get your hands on it. :props:

Almost pull the trigger, but I've decided to stick with the PC for now and spend the money on Detailing Boot Camp first.

I think it's just a matter of time before the Rupes will surpass the Flex 3401 and rotary as "the " machine to have IMO and use. Switching to exact-fit bp's will allow both mf and foam pads to be used according to the few friends that I have talked to so far. Every one of them can't get over the amount of increased stroke and the ease of which it does correction.

Based on this input, I'm going to further delay my consideration of the Flex 3401. Thanks for sharing. I'd like to hear (hint) more about your experience with the RUPES.

Trying to hard to resist. The more people post about the Rupes the more I want it. Such an addictive hobby

The only 2 flaws i found with using my Rupes 15 last week was

1. Sometimes the trigger will not react, like when u hold it, the machine is not turning on, hence making me feel like the trigger is defective, but it is a safety feature from Rupes, perfectly normal. Happened to me about 5 times when i was doing a 1 step polish on a TRUCK.

2. During start up, u have to hold it with both of ur hands, it starts up a bit weird.... like it will start up strong and then it will be adjusted to the speed set. So if u holding it with 1 hand it is going to go crazy on the paint.

I could help but lol'd when I read your #2.

Anyone know if the rumor about Rupes coming out with a electric version of the lhr-75 is true or not??

The Rupes LHR21E certainly changed everything for me... I went from using super aggressive pads (microfiber cutting disks) and M101 to pull out severe defects, to using a polishing pad with M205 to accomplish the same thing.

I have not been the biggest fan of the 3401, as I seem to fight it all the time. Yes, it does have a place, but it's far from my preference. For now, I'll keep my 7336, 9227C and LHR21E.

If I had to be really picky, I would place some metal tabs on the top to keep it a little more stable when resting. The KB washer mod is an absolute, as well. Lastly, I wish some would lay off the old "you have to use our accessories" gimmick. It works with everything.

This really puts things into perspective, IMO.

Agreed.

The more I read about everyone's great experience with the Rupes the more upset I get. I've got a brand-new one sitting in a box I haven't had a chance to even turn on yet. I go for knee surgery this week so now it'll be several more weeks until that opportunity presents itself. I'm just feeling sorry for myself. No biggie

Have a safe surgery and fast recovery Richy!

Well the cold weather has currently kept from enjoying use of my rupes. Still in the 20 and 30's here.

GL. Surgery sucks. I hope you recover better than I did.

I also find myself fighting the flex also, I use my Cyclo way more then the flex, I will be buying the rupes, still going back and forth between the two, for now I really love the Cyclo, I have been using it for almost three years now, it is so smooth.
