Where is the info on the Mille? Rupes has indeed made a forced rotation sander for years and National Detroit made a forced rotation polisher the ND9900 but it was an air tool.
I'm glad to hear the Makita is running the right, clockwise, direction in forced rotation mode. I will make it more comfortable for people who already run a rotary and help people who don't get familial with the feel.
Does anyone know how the action of the Rupes Mille compares with the Makita as far far as orbits per revolution and revolutions per minute?
Thanks
LOL...I'm just waiting for it to go on the site for ordering.hey mark, you should buy one so if you don't like it (you'll know right away) you can sell it to me for cheap LOL...
it will be nice to see a side by side/apples to apples comparison (true test) between the two (flex/makita) with the same pads, polishes/compounds and number of passes. should be a good one...
Thoughts RSW? RPM is higher on the Makita.

Where did you find that info?
I think it depends on the paint hardness. Harder paint, the forced rotation will finish just fine. Softer, a free spinning DA for sure. I'm not sure how effective the free spin mode will be for the Makita. I'm buying it for the forced rotation, so if the free spinning mode doesn't bog down easily, that will be icing on the cakeSo do you think the Mille can finish better than my 15mkII? My paint never gets hammered so how a machine finishes is my main concern.
Also I'm assuming more pads from Rupes?

The 3401 spins at 4800 OPM, not the claimed 9600. Kevin Brown tested and proven.

So, on paper, which should have more cutting power?Mille
clockwise
5.2mm Stroke
7,490 OPM
14 orbits per rotation at 535 RPM
900 watts
motor amps ???
6.17lbs
PO5000C
Clockwise
5.5mm stroke
6800 OPM
Math comes out to 8.608 orbits per 790 rpm
900 watts
7.8 amp
6.2lbs
id like to say the Mille, but i'm sure it'll be very negligible between Rupes and MakitaSo, on paper, which should have more cutting power?
