FLEX beats Rupes to the Punch with new Swirl Finder Light

High quality and solid. Adjustable viewing width. Shows defects very well(bright, but not too bright).

I'm sorry, but $40 for a flashlight??? I could find a similar flashlight on Amazon for less than $15 that does the same including shipping. It would probably be under $10. Please explain what justifies the price tag over a less expensive flashlight. You can search for flashlights with the low lumen of the high priced one. You can also find them with metal or aluminum bodies. You can also find them with adjustable beam widths. I don't understand the justification of paying that much more for a stamped brand name on an inexpensive non branded flashlight that wasn't even made by the company selling it. Please explain.

I gotta agree. Not saying the FLEX light is bad; I'm sure it is quite good. But you'd be paying a lot for that presentation box and FLEX rubber sock around the body.

Just got my Flex light and I have used it before on Thursday night makeovers down at Autogeek. So everyones question is how is it different. First off it is heavy duty indeed as Mark already pointed out. The thing that I think differs from every other 3 watt flashlight is the curved lens on the end of the light, it almost looks like an eyeball shape and preturds outward. Not sure if that help everyone out, but you can definetly spot the swirls, scratches, water spots, etc.

Woah! My Stanley head light has a main section with LEDS and then small ones on each side. They are bright as hell and show so much. Plus, its on my head so easy to reach up and turn off on. Time saver. How would this light be better?

Give it a Google

3w light led adjustable lanyard

Recognize anything familiar?

Thank you for the first hand feedback! Chris, the single diode lights are definitely more desirable than the trillions of lower quality multi-diode lights on the market.

The presentation box is a royal POS!!

Boy, I blew this one!

Still a nice light, though.

I agree. My PD32 is perfect for darker paint at 330 lumens!
I tried my RC40 once on paint and am still seeing orange spots!
I am looking into a Fenix PD35 which offers six different settings:
  1. 850 lumens
  2. 450 lumens
  3. 170 lumens
  4. 45 lumens
  5. 10 lumens
  6. strobe
I wonder if the 450 is too high and the 170 is too low. Does anyone use the PD35 and if so could you provide some feedback?

Just got my Flex light. Worth every penny.

Sadly, I think you're right. Chalk this one up as being ripped off!

Apologies, but...these notes seem a bit confusing here...
Is the light really worth it?

I'm still on the hunt for a solid swirl finder light..

I bought a Fenix PD35 and really like it. Works in finding swirls very well and is an excellent flashlight. You can use a rechargeable battery too. It just stays in the glove box now.

I don't know that particular light, but I use a Coast 1000 lumen with an adjustable beam. Adjustable beam makes all the difference IME. Blows away the Brinkmann.

I actually love the light. I just could have bought it elsewhere for a lot cheaper.

Thank you, what kind of batteries does it take?
Doing some research here and from what Im seeing a lot of people like Fenix products for swirl finding.

I see people use the following:

Fenix TK41
Fenix TK11
Fenix TK35

and now Coast lights..

Now, for someone who was once looking only for the Brinkman, this can be a bit overwhelming as to which would be best for my needs.
Any recommendations?

Just go to Amazon and look for a CREE LED zoom flashlight. It will cost less than $10 and look (and function) just like the light FLEX is offering, minus the rubber sock around the battery tube.
