I currently own the pc 7424. The Flex polisher is something I would like to have in the near future. The cars I have are 3 black daily drivers. In pretty good shape except for a few swirls. Is the flex al,ost the same as the pc? Would it do the same job safely? Since this is my 2nd year at detailing. Have alot of products and pads. Feed back please

If your cars are in pretty good shape and your not planning on doing a lot of other cars, then the pc is all you need. You probably did all the hard work already...now it's just maintenance work which the pc should handle very well. The Flex will correct faster, but the heavy correction is already done, so your just spending 400 bucks needlessly.

It's a great machine if you have the spare bucks to spend on it .But just like Ron mentioned your pc should handle it .

To me the flex is almost like the PC is like saying a hamburger is like a steak. Probably a bad analogy but the Flex is Wayyyyyyyyy better. The PC is good, the Flex is great. This is always opinion based. Just research the subject and you will see what I mean. Entire countries have gone to war over this very topic.

I don't know if the Flex is wayyyyyy beter than the pc. The pc with 105/205 can do some serious correction.

OK maybe not Wayyyyyy better but how about wayyyy better, is that better? All the machines are good. I am a certified tool junkie and just enjoy using well made great performing tools. I am not trying to take anything away from the PC, it is a good tool that is built like a tank and should last a hobbiest a lifetime. Some tools just seem more enjoyable to use. I have a Dewalt and Makita rotary. One is set up for edge pads and one with a backing plate. They are both well built but I enjoy the Makita more. I'm sure it is partly mental on my part. As I introduce friends to the joys of paint correction it gives me extra tools to get them and me working at the same time. In the grand scheme of things the buffers are a great deal when you factor how many years you can use them and how much time and effort they can save you.

And I should have said wars have been fought over comparing the Griots ROP and the Flex, not the PC. The PC still holds the title of the start of it all.

I still would suggest a Flex is an upgrade to the PC , that said you dont necessarily need both, but I prefer to have both !

I've tried Griot's 6" ROP, PCXP, Meguiars G110v2, Flex 3401, Festool Rotex 150 dual mode, Makita BO6040 dual mode..............The Flex 3401 is my favorite out of all of them. :dblthumb2:

The Cyclo is also an excellent machine, but Flex is still king.

I sold my PC and bought a Flex. I missed the 4 inch pad capacity of the PC so I bought another PC. Having both available definitely makes the job go smoother.

I'm thinking about buying the flex/edge adapter just to use for the smaller pads. Right now I use the GG 3" polisher but it doesn't have as much power as I would like.

I was not satisfied at all with the griots 3" polisher. Not nearly enough power....

So you changed your mind about liking the Griot's better? To each his own I suppose. I'm done with these arguements, but wanted to ask what changed your mind?

So you didn't like the Festool? I tried the search function looking for a thread with the findings of your trial of the Festool. Did you post any? Just curious as to what you like better about the Flex and how it stood up against the Festool.
