Floor Jack Recommendations

One thing to look at in jacks is not only their weight limit, but also look at the size of the hydraulics.

Example: I bought a 6T (about $100) some years back from my local auto parts store. Like to bust a gut when using in on about a 4000lb lift. Went back to store and looked at their various models...EACH and EVERY model from 2T to 6T used the SAME size of hydraulic unit. Yes, the frames were much heavier, but the lifting part was still tiny.

As was said above, you DO get what you pay for.

Just my 2 cents.

I had a couple of the $29.95 jacks that broke under light usage. I got one on sale for around $60 at a farm supply store that is heavier, and more heavy duty, and had I spent the money the first time, I would not have had the aggrevation of not having the jack when when I needed it. I think HF probably has decent stuff, but I like to 'see' things before I buy them. If the one at Costco looks like it's what you need/want, go with it, and don't look back. You won't regret it.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!! I'll probably pick up the Costco floor jack.
