I was in a rush today and ate a nice little sandwich in my car. Unfortunately I dropped a small slice of tomato between the center console and my seats which is a about 1cm in length. Is there an easy way to get it out without removing the seats? I tried vacuuming it out but i just dont have a hose that can fit in there :( and i cant fish it out either since it slid under the seat.

If you have access to an air compressor you might be able to blow it out from wherever it is stuck against.

I use my metro blaster sidekick to get stuff out of hard to reach areas.

It dropped into the pit of doom you say, I hate it but we all have different pits of doom. If anything drops into that area, I stop at a station and get it before I keep driving. I have faith in you, sometimes i thought id never be able to reach but i always end up getting whatever i thought woulda been long gone

You must really have The pit of doom if you can't recover the tomato slice, let us know what happens

Thanks for the wisdom, Yoda. I think im just going to bend a coat hanger and try to skewer it. Wish me luck!

ooooh best of luck to you! Seeing the title reminded me of when I was 7, my friend lost a mcdonalds burger in their Explorer.. 10 months later they found it...

If the vehicle's cabin gets nice and warm...Then, I've found that:
This particular area (between the center console and seats) makes
for an excellent substitute-oven for "sun-drying", so to speak.

-Just sprinkle your choice of seasonings down onto the tomato.
(I like fresh herbs...Basil is my favorite)...

After awhile...
Use the: Cleaned-with-IPA end of an unraveled wire coat hanger to remove the delicacy.

:)

LOL this reminded me of back when I was about 8 or 9 my mom took my sis and I to the bike shop to get some water bottles and other things for a big bike ride we had planned. I somehow talked her into getting me one of those energy bars because it was "chocolate." Long story short... it didn't taste like chocolate at all so I stuffed it into the map pocket in the back seat of the Jeep. The next day I had completely forgotten about it. Fast forward to late summer... this thing had completely melted into a pile of disgusting, not so chocolate flavored stink mess. The entire car smelled like it. I totally blamed that on my sister. The end.

What kind of car is it?

You've probably thought of this, but if you can't get it from the top how about moving your seat to it's forward most position and try going underneath from the back of the seat?

I had to reword that a couple of times so I didn't get any "that's what she said" from my "getting it from behind" comment :)

A skewer or a dial rod.

to the OP, Glove up jamb your hand down there retrieve the tomato slice and finish your lunch......:dblthumb2:

I use a very thin wet dry vac nozzle, works very well for when customers cant get in between and you look like a show off when the item can be bought at home depot for 8 dollars :Picture::Picture::dblthumb2:

This thread totally cracked me up lol...:laughing: I'm glad you got the tomato slice out of there. Reminds me of this one time I went into a Subway, and there was a spoiled tomato slice on my sub. It took me years to go back to Subway and get a sub. Rotten tomato (to me) is one of the worst smells.

Been bustin a gut myself!.......

I got these little gadgets for Christmas that fit in between my seat and the console. There's a loop that goes around the seat belt latch. Something like this would catch those items that seem to get away when driving.

Ok now that the snobbiness is over with I +1 the vacuum wand from Home Depot.
