Its funny to me at how many people get a coating and use boosters on top of it. They rave at the performance of the coating.
...
In fact I did the exact thing with my Wrangler for four years, nothing but OCW. Paint was perfect at the end, no etching, water spots, etc.
And that worked well for you...so that's the best thing for you.
I've used a truckload of coatings and associated boosters in the last year on a variety of vehicles with a variety of maint. routines and usage patterns. Coatings alone, coatings with boosters; well maintained vehicles, vehicles that didn't receive so much as a wash in 9 or 10 months; personal vehicles that were lightly used, personal vehicles with heavy use, fleet vehicles that are abused more than rent-a-wreck cars.
Through all this I've determined what works best...for me. The combination (that does include the use of a booster as a drying aid) is but one element in the overall package that affords me the final looks and performance that I desire. Some elements of that package provide durability, some offer a subtle change to appearance and some provide ease of maintenance...and combined they satisfy my particular needs.
To disparage a strategy ("It's funny to me...") that is not tailored to your particular situation is myopic at best.
