For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

Sorry for not responding sooner, but unfortunately running a high volume detail operation during the day and being slammed with side work after hours (oh, and being a father/husband with 2 kids) has prevented me from digging into this matter immediately. I was aware that Adapt's future was taking a turn (in a positive overall way I can assure you), but wasn't sure when and how it was being executed? I have a message in with the powers that be and will formally reply ASAP. Thanks for your continued support. We certainly value your opinions. It's helped us shape the way we not only do business, but how we create the industry's leading line of products. Please stay tuned....

Perhaps if the AAT products were at a price point closer to the previous product ( Adapt ) it would have been better received.

This is why I never tried the new AAT combo
32 oz was way more expensive, and they didn't offer them in 16oz to make the hit a lil less severe

They do offer them in smaller bottles,I have them. Got them on last big sale to try out. At least on sale, the price doesn't hurt as much. But then again,Adapt on sale is even better deal. I think I may have gotten one of the last 32oz Adapt bottles. I have not had a chance to try the AAT product yet but am looking forward to comparing it to Adapt. I guess the comparison really won't matter if Adapt is history.

Yeah and it didn't cost $12.00 more per 32oz. bottle as AAT Compound. What the heck was 3d thinking.

The AAT line I'm sure is good, but they approach the cost of Menzerna, and part of the appeal of the HD line is the low cost compared with many other top-tier products.

One thing I know is I won't pay 50% more for the AAT to see how it compares to Adapt and luckily I still have about 20oz left

Still waiting for an official response from 3D, but after reading some of the comments/rationale I can't help but to be a bit concerned from a business perspective and comment on it. As rational business people, is it really wise to dismiss a product (or an entire product line for that matter) when a certain product costs $10 more than another? Especially a product that might not only save you time, but also generate greater profits and a produce a superior result? $10 when you break it down by application is less than $1? That shouldn't even matter? Especially when many of us are charging hundreds, or even thousands for our services. What if your clients were that narrow minded when it came to selecting your detailing services? Do you really think that's a rational way of thinking about things that can directly impact your business?

If you try examining our products as a whole and you compare them to a competing brand, hands down I feel that we are a better value. Yet, a few products that cost a marginal amount more than *some* are making you dismiss our product line all together? I can understand and respect your interest in saving a few bucks. Especially when we're talking about an identical product being sold by 2 different vendors at different prices. But this really isn't what this is about.

Here's a quick comparison to some of the products brought up in this thread:

Pretty much all of the top tier Menzerna polishing compounds are $49.99 for a 32oz bottle. HD Cut and Polish is $37.99 with Adapt being $31.99. Speed is $21.99 and both AAT Polish & Compound is $49.99.

CarPro Essence is $39.99 for a 1/2 quart making it almost 3 times more expensive than our comparable product. And Reflect is $34.99. Again, more expensive.
Griots doesn't offer 32 oz sizes, but their compounds are $23.99 and their polish is $19.99 for 16 oz bottles. Our 16oz bottles are $20.99. On average, we’re less expensive.

Most of these pricing differences shouldn't even be a consideration, yet for many it seems like a life or death decision. So again, why spend so much negative energy on pricing to the point where it makes you want to abandon ship? I think people should be more concerned with producing quicker, higher quality results at a top price instead of dredging up so much negative attention on one of the least expensive items that affects your business.

Could have said it better myself. I have been underwhelmed by all of the products I have tried from them.

I don't mean to call you out Michael, but I have to call a spade a spade. Especially how you've continuously gone out of your way to talk negatively about our company and products on multiple forums and on Facebook recently. From your reviews on our products, it appears that you've given us very high praise. Yet now you claim quite the opposite in this thread? Sounds very hypocritical if you ask me?

First of the scent of the product is amazing. As with any other product a little goes a long way. It spreads out really nicely. Overall I enjoyed using it. I would recommend this. It`s great because it can be used on all surfaces. Again the leather scent just adds to the nostalgia of using it.

I typically don`t use car shampoo`s that leave anything behind. But I was impressed with HD Wash. It has good lubricity. Produced some nice suds that lasted the entire wash. I did not have any issues rinsing off the soap from the surface. It`s dilution ratio is on par with these soaps which is a good thing. It did leave a nice and glossy finish. It was a dusty week here (Santa Ana winds + pollen) after I had washed them and I noticed the car`s stayed cleaner longer. I enjoyed using it and would recommend it to those shine freaks that want that little extra gloss boost.

It did go on very easily and a little product went a long way. Especially once the pad has been primed with product. It appears to be doing some cleaning action. For those of us that regularly maintain our interiors, this would be more than enough for an AIO. It is non-greasy. It did not leave a sticky feeling. The shine can be controlled. So far this looks to be like a good product. It says it can be used on all interior surfaces, so I am looking to use it like that. For $8, it`s worth giving it a shot.

From my recollection, any interaction you and I have had up to now has been very positive, so I don't know why you've committed yourself differently like this recently? I remember you having dusting issues with the original HD Polish the 1st (and I think only) time you tried it, but we've listened to yours and others complaints and it actually prompted us to improve it with the new Polish + version. We appreciate everyone's feedback, but don't know how or why this further disconnect keeps happening? I'm deeply sorry for any problems you've experienced, but it’s unfortunate you've taken these issues so heartfelt. If there's something I can do or change to make you feel otherwise or renew your faith in me, our products or our company please don't refrain from letting me know. If not, I’d appreciate it if you would just refrain from concentrating further negative energy towards us. Thank you.

Thankfully I have my brand new 32oz bottle of Adapt and a partial 16oz. left. It's really amazing stuff.

Me 2. Glad I still have a 16 oz bottle.

David, is the AAT compound significantly different than the Polish in how it works? I have the AAT Polish and prefer Adapt and Polish to it hands down. AAT does not seem to finish near as well, and dusts a ton. Maybe my process is off, but I feel pretty secure in it since I've used HD stuff my whole career.

Well I don't own a business so if I may, I can afford the $10 as you see it ( actually $19 or 52%) from Adapt to AAT but as an enthusiast I like to use products that I'm familiar with. If you were concerned from a business perspective, is it wise to single out one member? I spend a lot of my day being talked down too, I come here to learn and discover new techiniqes.

Call me what you want. I never said that all HD Products stink. Do you think that I would recommend products (regardless of manufacturer) that don't perform well? If you do then there is something seriously wrong. I spent a lot of my hard earned money on HD Products as well as on other brands. Some products satisfied me and others have not. Maybe it's my engineering background that takes over and allows my standards to be higher than the average person. But I post my personal experience for other members just so that they are aware. I don't want them to spend their hard earned money and come back saying they are unhappy with a products performance. In the end it's the person's personal choice on whether or not they purchase the product.

You mention my facebook posts. If you look at my posts on detailing for dummies, you will see that I still recommend the products that work well. I have not said don't buy HD.

You posted those links to products that I have reviewed. In saying that I will say this.

3D Towel Kleen is a great product as is HD Wash. I have no problems with those.

The thing that get's me with HD Protect is the fact that the information shared by yourself, Donald Williams on the youtube channel and on the 3D facebook page are not coinciding with one another. It's as if product information is not passed on to other 3D employees. Hearing different claims is a turn off. It appears as though the personnel is not well trained.

As you know I post my reviews on Autogeek as well. To follow up with more information on these two products. I didn't say that these products were bad or good other than they are worth giving a shot. But each thread evolves into it's own living and breathing thing. I sometimes don't follow up on both sites. But my reviews can be found on both sites.

I was very disappointed in 3D Trim Care that I had contacted Ben about whether or not the 100% satisfaction guarantee applied to the product. I didn't hear a peep. This did not give me confidence in 3D customer service. Customer service plays a large role for me personally. With good customer service, I feel that the brand strives to take care of it's supporters.

Review 3D Trim Care Protectant

Don't get me started on 3D eraser. I never wrote a review because it would not have been a good one. It didn't live up to it's claim based on personal use. Do you think I would recommend this product if it didn't do what it claimed? Ah no.

You are correct that I am not a fan of HD Polish due to a horrible user experience I have with the non + version. I always read the claims on how good it is and that there is no dusting. That of course is untrue at least from my personal experience. I gave it a second shot on this Corvette that I am currently correcting. Again it dusted like no tomorrow on a brand new foam finishing pad at low speed on a Rupes polisher on a few panels. Why would I want to use a product that dusts more than the compound I was using? Based on my personal experience I don't recommend the product. Do you think I would purchase the newer version after I was unsatisfied with the previous version of the product based on the bad user experience? My answer would be no regardless if it's a 3D product or not. You may not like it but I posts my personal experience and again it is the forum members decision on whether or not they decide to purchase the product. I am not telling them not to buy the product.

I was not going to post this but this is what I experience with HD Polish. I have no intentions of continuing to use it. I don't want to continue to struggle in cleaning up after using it. I don't have the same experience with other polishes.

Perhaps I will come back to 3D in the future but as I write this, I've said my peace and made my peace with 3D products.

With that said this thread can go back to the topic of HD Adapt being discontinued.

Whats the Cut and Gloss rating of 3D AAT Rubbing Compound and 3D AAT Finishing Polish? How do these twins compare to Menzerna 400 and 3500 in cut and gloss? Please dont quote Autopia's polish chart as I have found it wrong on most occasions.

Winner winner, HD Adapt dinner. After I'm done with this bad boy I guess it will be all Cut+ and Optimum Hyper Polish from here forward.

I get a sneaking suspicion they may rerelease it after all this hoopla or a new improved version is in the works. Makes no sense to drop this if it is as popular as all the posters on this thread have claimed.

Me too.

I've only used their original Polish, and thought it was awesome, but they did an improvement on that. Maybe an Adapt + is in the future?

I've got HD Polish+ and it's become my new go to for fine to medium polishing. I just ordered AAT Compound and looking forward to trying it as well. If it cuts and finishes as well as I've heard then it might be my new one-step of choice.

Well boys, I feel like we've learned alot from this thread. In case you missed it, the 3 major points are...Detailer's can't handle change. Math is subjective. Don't #### with David Fermani.

I'm a member on another site, by rules I cannot mention here, that is still selling adapt. If you're interested in knowing the site feel free to message me.
