Foreal...?

My Story:

About 3 months ago, I was drying off my vehicle when my neighbor's kid (Dennis the Menace) sneaks over and takes one of my wash mitts. I look over to his driveway and the kid is washing his dad's aluminum bass boat, full of caked on river crud, with the mitt. Then he proceeds to drop it on the concrete and pick it up several times. I was pissed. That mitt is no longer used.

:wow:
Now is where you take your neighbor a receipt for the 'new' mitt you just bought and tell him to pay ya'.

Heck I've got an old friend that built a 6' wooden fence between his garage and the neighbors, (because the neighbors dog would stand there and bark at them for hours on end), then take them ½ the $1100.00 bill!

We all are very protective of our vehicles. For good reason as we invest time and money into them. This past Thanksgiving it was like 60 here in Detroit so we drove the

Challenger. Later in the day I noticed some family memebers outside practicing their volleyball serves with my car about ten feet behind two ppl that were accepting

serves. I quickly went out to move the car only to have them tell me "it's all good Uncle Chet. We only hit it a few times " These were younger family members who

wouldn't know to say that as a "sarcastic" joke to rile me up. I just laughed and move the car. Of course by the time I came up to the house they were done.

I really really HATE it, when somebody leans on my car
I continously feel uncomfortable unless he/she backs off....

My car isn't even close to perfect right now but I had a situation similar to a few of these the other night.

Driving to a Christmas parade my daughter was in and my wife starts tapping the passenger window to show me something. I say "So I guess that's why there's always finger prints on that window." She laughs it off, I ask her politely to stop.

Not long after that, we park to walk to the parade. A recent stop at Starbucks leaves her with a coffee in hand while trying to get some other things from the car. She sets the cup on the roof...I stare...she laughs, moves the cup and goes like she is about to rub off the marks the cup may have left on the roof. A quick "Don't do it!" makes her think twice and she doesn't touch it anymore.

We met while I was in my garage at 2:30 in the morning detailing my Prelude for a show later that day. She should know by now that I'm a bit obsessive :P

Reading all of these posts... Well im glad to see the sickness isnt just my own... my wife says i need serious help and that its not normal to drive down the road and be able to notice who had a hack job with a rotary buffer and who actually knows what there doing when it comes to washing there cars...
I just thank god for a good wife who puts up with this obsession...

Detailing is a different kind of OCD.. but i still think clinically can still be labled as an actually psychological disorder....

I drive a 1996 integra that was not taken great car of. I have since started to bring it back to life.

That being said there's clear coat failure and will need a re- spray.

ANd you know what? When, people disrespect my car Im not that worried about my car. More I am upset that they are disrespecting ME.

I understand they may not know that what they are doing is causing harm.

BUT. DO not touch someone elses car!

Very true, mine especially when it comes to her vehicle, and she appreciates it too.
