Wyt & Killr

You both have DSL, my speed test is on Cable. DSL max's out at 6.0mb where as cable goes further (speed wise).

However if you want to do a firmware upgrade you gotta call bellsouth, they have certain ways of doing it for there customers due to there equipment.. Idk if it's gonna make a diff on dsl though... worth a shot..

Your speeds look fine though 3.0mb, good speed.... I'd leave it but if you crave "mo" power! LOL

Firmware updates in "engrish" lol basicly like this, windows always has updates right? well the companies that make your DSL or Cable modem sometimes put out updates for their hardware. Usually these updates are small fixes and some are large. Some range from security to actual speed increases due to the company manf. found a glitch or a way to pull some more speed.

With cable modems there are alot of updates and ways to "tweak" the speed or latency, ping times etc..... it's like a huge pipe? with alot of water flowing through it?

I have cable (Roadrunner) and the max speed I could get is 5800. You got double that! Do you just have standard cable?

Yep, comcast basic.

I think they just powerboosted everyone though since they took over adelphia over here.

07SteedaQ335 thanks for the help.

Sorry the TCP Optimizer didn't help you Wytstang....it's always worked for me:( Hope all is working fine now. My roadrunner has been CRAWLING today, but I think it's from spyware. I'm checking for it now!

Look at my posted speed pic, right under it I said I reinstalled it. It seems (looking at the speed) it's working good. Thank you for posting the link. Also here's a neat trick I learned last night:
XP Pro users who wish they had a "hibernation" feature here you go
How To Enable Hibernation?
Under Windows 98, Me, or 2000 there was an option in the shutdown dialog box to enter the computer into hibernation (where all the content of the RAM is copied to the hard disk). The shutdown dialog box of Windows XP doesn't offer any longer the hibernation button. Some users may get confused about how to enable the hibernation mode. If this mode is supported by your motherboard (ACPI) you have to do the following:
1: Click Start and Shut Down,
2: Point the standby button and maintain the shift key pushed,
3: A new hibernation button appears: click it while still holding the shift key: voila your PC will hibernate.
