full detail package cost

You're not listening to all those with tons of real life experience. Why did you ask for input?

who said i wasnt listening ? i said i learned from this post that im going to cut out some steps and use some 2 in one products , charge 500 to 1400 ? just not happening in newyork i will be out of business .

i said in a day , if oyu cant finish one car in around 8 hours your a lazy bum and got no balls, answer this how long does it take you to compound a car just one step ??

You said "all day 6-8 hours" which I find incredible considering all those steps. It took me 2.5 hours just to compound my car, but I'm no pro and that was my first attempt at machine polishing. And I was mostly joking with you, Joe. Lighten up! lol

I think it can happen in ny. Just need to break into "that market" and that may take time. But I could see it as the goal.

I am not a pro detailer. Just a glassblower who worked in NYC for two years and grew up in NJ. The markets for most thing are available in the tri state. I wish you luck!

thanks , im sure the customers are there just have to find right people with car worth the detail

An hour on claying? Get yourself a nanoskin autoscrub pad for the DA or a speedy prep towel and cut that down to 20 minutes.

For me to compound with a rupes 21 is 3-5 hours including taping off. With rotary and wool and can cut that down to 2 hours, but I rarely go to the rotary for compounding anymore. An interior with what you do is 3 hours minimum for me; that puts me at 8 hours for 2 steps, maybe 3. For all your steps I'm probably at 20 hours and easily $800, put a coating in there and it's not hard to hit $1K. I don't do many of those jobs, but they exist in the car enthusiast market.

If you and your customers are happy at $20/hr +/- then I'm I'm not in a position to judge. You live in one of the most populous places on the planet - there is definitely a market for $1k plus detailing. There's at least a couple guys on here from NYC and NJ that are in that range.

its popular yes people got the cars and money true but there are manyyy manyyy to many people detailing cars ny is over populated with businesses theres 3 car washes on one block

Joe Fernandez says you have to find customers who are car guys and have money

A guy w money that is not a car guy won't pay

A car guy without money won't pay either

Makes sense

The interior is fine but that is way too much work for the exterior. People with daily drivers will not appreciate it. I would offer a clay and AIO package for $100 less.

Try to cut the number of steps down to 2. Your customer will be happy and won't be able to tell the difference.
