G15 0r G21?

I have 4 Boss units and 2 of them are already out of service due to mechanical issues. One somehow lost its balance as the plate wobbles no matter how I try to fix it and the second is making a high pitched scream. Something internal is not right. I will be sending them back to Griot's for them to take care of which is never an issue, but I'm not impressed with the durability of these units at all.

That's a shame to hear. How much use were they seeing?

As far as the G21/G15 polishers and backing plates go, both sized backing plates are approved through Griots to be used on both polishers. It's not a hazard at all. Dunno where you're coming up with that. I have been running my G21 with two washers(also sent by Griots) and a 5'' BP since I got it. It has been great.

Zubair is absolutely right.

Here's the instruction manual if you need concrete proof:

I'll tell you what a number of other users here told me when I asked: just get the 21 now. You're fine to use the 5 inch backing plate and you still get the advantage of the largest throw. I don't regret it at all and it's certainly not dangerous. The only thing to be aware of is you definitely need a smaller polisher for some of the more intricate areas that the large throw+pad size makes it hard to get to.
Thank you for the input!

Innnnteresting....I like to, to have the ability to use the 5incher and then if needed, switch the 6incher for bigger areas.

Hmmm....21 seems like the best bet and my GG6 with 3 inch plate for smaller areas. Thanks again! :)

Edit: Do the BOSS Da's ever go on sale on here?

So for those saying a 21 is not meant to use on smaller panels, what about this from Kevin Brown? Thoughts?

unfortunately there's going to be a small percentage of problems (like with any other product), but know that GG will take care of you...

So there's a sale right now....I think I may pull the trigger and get the G21.

I just finished ordering 12 'thin' LC pads too! Going to order the 5 inch backing plate for it.

Is this as good as it will get? 15% off right now? Or am I better holding off some? It said it applies to everything..I am assuming that means the BOSS too...

Bought it! I have the 21 on the way with the 5 inch backing plate to boot. :)

Good deal
If you haven't purchased any pads yet check out the new B&S low pros or the LC Thin pros

Since you have a 21 with a 5in BP
I may think he low pros will serve you better to rebalance the machine since I'm sure the 5in BP weighs less then the 6in

I was in process of summiting a lengthy initial review of the 3 pads, third being Boss.. but stupidly dragged my thumb on phone screen and its updated form to blank :-(

I bought a G15, love it! On my 2014 LTZ Z71 Crew Silverado thats White Diamond tri-coat I used the G15, Buff and Shine cutting Microfiber pads, and the Griots fast correction cream. Corrected all my paint flaws from the neglect of the previous owner in one step!

I didn't love my G15 at first but now the more I use it and get comfortable with it, I can see it's going to save me a lot of time. I highly recommend using the boss pads

I tried the Griots microfiber pad and it didn't have as much cut as my Buff and Shine.

99.9% sure it's the exact same MF material. Were you comparing the stiffer orange foam back B&S pads to the soft, thick, red foam backed Griots MF pad or the new thin BOSS mf pads with red foam? IME the BOSS pads will have more cut.
