Garage lighting suggestions

Great light, super important. garage looks great !

I have 4 high bay fixtures in my shop that work better and cheaper than the 8 ft. Fixtures I had. They are 4ft. With 6 t8 day lite bulbs. All on the same circuit .i got them at home depot, with the bulbs they were 100 dollars. They show defects just fine

That shelf at the head of the garage looks like it is sagging a bit too much.
Unload everything, get a straight 1x4 from the store and face frame it ( like a cabinet ) so the 4" is facing into the garage and the 1" dimension is pointing towards the floor and ceiling.

When you get it, it will have a crown in it, you want the crown facing up.

Use a floor jack and 2x4 to push the shelf straight again before screwing the 1x4 to it.

This will help with 2x2s trying to carry the load that far apart

You can go all out and use a 1x6 and have half of it up over the shelf like a lip. that would help it out even more.

Sorry that shelf scared me a bit, I just think of stuff falling on my vehicle at 2:00 AM. not only would it scare the crap out of me, I would be very pissed and not sleep the remainder of the night

Here's something I put together for lighting on the walls...

I got these at Costco, comes with the fixture & lights for around $14.

I modified/used mounting from the Rubbermaid FastTrack system to secure the fixtures. Using this method allows you to remove the fixtures if you like - I'm planning on putting up more Fast Track bars so I can add/move lights as needed.

Very nice setup on the lighting. I have been wanting to do something similar for a long time. The surge suppressor mounted by the garage opener plug is brilliant!
