This is a perfect illustration of what the climate change folks dont want you to know...how ev gets part of their power to charge the batteries.... Fossil fuels.

As our fearless leaders become more persistant on removing earths resources from being extracted to power our everday lives in so many ways...all in the name of the highly politicized "climate change". Scaring gullible folks into believeing in the impending doom if we dont stop almost immediately using fossil fuels for 100 percent green energy.

The world is not ready for it, but we are told otherwise and that we need it now.

Please dont believe in the scare tactics folks...we are being pushing into doing something that not everyone believes we are ready for, or need.

We have been shown over the last almost few years that the average joes/does will be bullied i to submission. Hope folks have or are learning we need peaceful non compliance, as they are just waiting for a reason to go full dictatorship.

We are a consitutional republic, not a banana republic. Lets not lose sight of that.

I agree, its not for everyone. The stability and infastructure is not there yet. Basically, being forced is what i dont agree with. Its covid all over again with the forced, do this or there with be consequences.

You're right. The gov. often oversteps in intervening in the economy and creates major market distortions. I don't know if EVs are the final solution at this point. A lot depends on how much better the technology gets.

I agree but we’ve seen how corporations beholden to the almighty dollar operate. If they can sit on a cash cow without any external stimuli, they will, so this is really how the US govt ensures corporations progress. See the Texas electrical grid for how corporate lead improvement looks otherwise.
 
Its all a hoax- climate change is the foundation of the globalists plan. EV are great if you live in the city and all you want to do is tool around a bit.
But I wont willingly buy one until they are equal in every single aspect to my gas vehicle. Right now they are inferior in almost every way to a gas powered vehicle.

I disagree with you on climate change, especially what is happening this year across the world.

But that’s the great thing about freedom, you have the freedom to choose and likely will for your entire life despite what California is “mandating” that will almost inevitably change. I think California will miss that deadline but most other states will NOT follow California’s lead, which is just as most states don’t now. And even if states outlaw new gasoline car sales, they won’t be able to get rid of fossil fuel cars anytime soon and likely never will.

Finally, I see some aspects where electric vehicles are superior and some inferior. Electric vehicles are less complex so should be easier to maintain though the few main components are more expensive to replace but likely on the same level as replacing a transmission or engine.

Tesla branded charging stations

There isn’t even a Tesla dealer in Alaska but people are shipping them up here like crazy

The plan is to be able to drive the entire state road system and find chargers along the way

People have told me how quirky electric cars act in deep winter cold so I am mystified as to why they are becoming so popular

I personally wouldn’t touch one

My Lexus hybrid averaged over 47 mpg on our road trip and can go over 400 miles on the 10 gallon tank

There wasn’t a single time on the Alcan highway I needed more than a third of a tank of gas when filling up

I don’t get it but to each his own

What if you’re wrong. I agree electric vehicles have many issues and may not ultimately be the type of vehicle that eventually replaces fossil fuel vehicles, maybe it will be hydrogen powered cars. But fossil fuel cars have issues. They burn fossil fuels and release emissions. Wars have been fought over fossil fuels and they are a limited resource that will eventually be too expensive to obtain. Eventually.

But what about the Detailer’s “oath’ of do no harm? What if you’re wrong and it isn’t a hoax? Would you rather do nothing and leave the world in worse shape than when you came into it? I’m not saying electric vehicles are the answer, but shouldn’t we be trying to get better? We already saw what LA looked like in the 80s and the first emission improvements in California definitely improved air quality in LA, which proved that cars caused issues and humans could do something to mitigate.

I wish we could get away from the politics and focus on just generally trying to improve and be better.

I don't want to piss anyone off because we are all entitled to our own beliefs and opinions but I have less of a problem with the actuality of EV cars than I do with the smugness factor and the apparent lack of knowledge and common sense that a lot of EV drivers seem to possess

Anyone who makes a blanket statement that their EV car has zero carbon footprint is an idiot, and it seems there are lot of those out there

Unless the car was built on another planet, from materials mined and sourced on another planet, and their charging stations were made of silicone, copper, plastic, etc that was mined and manufactured on another planet, and the charing station is 100% solar powered, then they have a carbon footprint

I have had this discussion with EV owners who seriously hadn't considered that the electricity flowing through the charging station cable comes from a oil fired or coal fired or atomic fired grid unless it is hydro or solar and that the plant that built the car and refined the materials etc etc was most likely using power from "the grid"

They don't know or won't acknowledge the footprint that the batteries have now, and will have in the future when they are toast and have to be recycled

On and on

Like almost any technology, EV cars are in their infancy and will grow and improve and lead the way and I applaud that

I just want to make sure people realize they aren't THE ANSWER and let technology and progress stagnate

Electric vehicles definitely have a myriad of issues but they are improving but still have huge strides to make across the board.

But gas powered cars have issues too. First, the best engines in a lab have a 40% thermal efficiency but most engines in the real world are 20-35% efficient. That means only 20-35% of a gallon of gasoline in a car translates to motion and the rest is wasted heat energy. And that doesn’t include the overhead for producing and transporting the gas. So there are some huge issues on the fossil fuel side of the ledger as well.

We need to improve all of our technologies and keep our options open. I’d rather we not give subsidies to electric vehicles, food (ethanol) in our gasoline, and other subsidies but big business pays more than citizens do.
 
$3.35 around here now, went to a larger town about 45 minutes away ( Ocala ) and found a few places cheaper. Sams Club was $3.16 but since biden got in office and gas went up about 100%- its not worth fighting the lines there. I stopped @ a 7-11 and it was $3.29 and got it for $3.18 since I am a "rewards " member .
 
Biden hasn’t had any real policies that caused the gas prices to increase and likely had limited success in getting prices down from their recent highs. But if he gets the blame for one he should get some credit for bringing prices back down but I really don’t attribute either to him.

Our gas prices are high because Russia invaded the Ukraine and other than stopping the invasion, there wasn’t anything else that could be done to keep gas prices from going up. Well, I guess we could have ignored the situation completely and helped finance a needless invasion by a power-hungry dictator.
 
Holding steady around $2.99 here but jumped up 20c when we drove to the Metroplex over the weekend. Counted 9 electric cars over the weekend, but didn’t start seeing them until we got into the DFW area. Strangely enough, 6 of them were on the way back taking US287 instead of on I20.

I’m probably the ideal candidate for an electric car. My wife drives her car if we go on long trips because we have to carry my wheel chair and other equipment for my disabilities. I only drive local. However, there’s not really one that appeals to me. We’ll have a hybrid of Ford ever puts it on a train out of Mexico.

So closing down pipelines didn’t effect them? Closing down all federal lands to drilling? Making it virtually impossible to drill on already owned but not drilled leases? Really?

So what has Biden done that has brought gas prices down? Everything you cited does point to gas prices going up but now that gas prices have come back down, what did he do? How did he also affect prices around the world?

I don’t necessarily like Biden but the blaming of Biden for everything is tiresome. Politics today is all or nothing. One party did all of it or the other but the world economy is not black or white.

but signs say $3.39
