Hello Mike/All,

In regards to detailing my daily driver, a 2001 Kia Spectra, with Magenta Red Metallic, yesterday, I did some of the vehicle, but not totally done with it.

The car was of course washed, Clayed with Mothers, and I then used the PC DA with an LC Orange CCS Pad, and Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0.

After doing the Roof, Hood, and Driver's side of the car, all looked very nice, the paint looked very clean, zero swirls.

The Total Swirl Remover 3.0 was very easy to work with, and I simply applied the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant by hand, with a yellow foam Applicator, waited 40 minutes, then removed with a Pumpkin MF Towel.

The paint looks very nice, like a new car, really sharp, but yet I feel something was still missing? Like the paint could've been taken to an even more insane level of shine, and I'm believing that I have perhaps missed a step.

That that step may have been the WG Final Finishing Glaze, and a softer LC Pad to amp the gloss more before LSP application.

Am I correct to assume I perhaps missed this step, and should consider purchasing the WG Final Finishing Glaze?

Or then gone to a lighter Pad? Or? Thanks Mike/All, Mark

Mike/All, I think I've found the answers to my questions.

That there is no harm-no foul by going directly from WG TSR to WGDGPS, that the TSR finishes down quite nicely all by its own.

I assume I've used it properly, because the results are very nice.

I just read the thread you initiated about "The Wolfgang Twins", and your post dated 10-14-11 about the sole use of WG TSR is fine.

I'm still learning Mike-All, and just trying to get up to the 21st century here, been under a rock for a long long time!

Part of that learning, will be learning how and why specific systems work synergistically, (read read, and then read and study some more!) and the other of course is the hands on experience.

Here's a rude awakening for myself. LOL.

Over the past two weeks, I have bought quite a little arsenal of goodies from the AG Folks, and just now looked through one of the shipping boxes......

I have the 16oz of WG Finishing Glaze on hand, I did "buy the Twins"! LOL

I bought the entire Concours 3.0 Kit all in 16oz Bottles.

I think old age is getting to me!

So, with that said, tomorrow's a day off work, and hopefully the weather Gods will cooperate here, the remainder of the car will get the TSR, the Finish Glaze, then lastly the WG Sealant.

I'll get to compare the two processes, and I reckon perhaps a few months from now, can maybe just do the vehicle again, with maybe just the Final Glaze, and the Sealant.

The WG finishing Glaze is a great finishing polish. (its not a glaze or purposeful defect filling product).

Its a pleasure to use and since the defects are already removed from the Swirl Remover 3.0, you should be able to fly through the final polish, doing sections a lot bigger than the defect removal step. You could also get away with using only 2 or 3 pads for the entire car. 1 for the horizontal surfaces, and 1 for each side of the car IME.

I prefer to use a gray finishing pad or even a white polishing pad. I just like the fact of using a pad that is not too soft and has some rebound to it.

Mark, it was recommended to me to apply a good wax after the WDGPS 3.0. I am doing my wife's black 335i tomorrow. My plan is to end with WDGPS 3.0 and then put a coat of Pinnacle liquid Souveran. The paint sealant will be longer lasting paint protection and the Pinnacle will give a great shine and can be reapplied easily as needed.

Of course, my full process plans are full wash, clay bar, wet sand some touch up paint bumps, buff these spots with Meguire's 105/205 as needed, then Pinnacle ASR and APF on the entire car, apply WGDPS 3.0, finally ending up with liquid Souveran.

It's probably going to be close to a 2 day process with the Formula 1 race on tomorrow, but it will be well worth it. I will try to take photos as I progress through it.

Hi all, thanks for your replies.
Here's a bit of a follow-up.

I did finish the Kia today, doing the entire 3-step Wolfgang process (TSR, Finsish Glaze, and Sealant)

Honestly, I noted no difference from using the Finish Glaze in between the two other products, but there could be a couple reasons for this.

That the TSR did do a great job of correction all by itself, and it was an overcast day, and all the processes haven't cured, and completely took hold just yet?

(Or, I cannot expect BMW 740 Series Paint on such a junkmobile, the Kia, out of every vehicle I've owned in my life has about the worst quality paint. They werr very stingy with paint application, and that's sad, a better thicker coat probably would've cost $1 in the factory) New Kia's do look much much better today though in regards to paint finish quality.

As I understand it, contrary to what I've read written by reviewers, and here just now, the manufacturer does claim Wolfgang Final Finishing Glaze is indeed both a Glaze, and a Fine Polish combined.

And I recognized such, as the typical qualities of the color of the product, and how it acted upon removal, a slight bit oily, like many glazes, that leave small bits of remnants that can work you a bit.

But nowhere near as bad as products like Meggy's #7, I've used that stuff twice in my life, and it is brutal to get off, even immediately after application.

About the Wolfgang Final Finishing Glaze..... I do see a great deal of merit, and use for such a product. An initially well kept vehicle, with only a very slight amount of swirling, and/or haze, lack of shine, this might be all that is needed?

As I worked today, a couple of principals by Mike P kept echoing through my head through the entire process. "Keep it clean", and "Go slow".

I did such, not to just go through the motions, I checked my work, after completing each panel. And I did go back on a couple of areas to correct, and the follow up on those certain areas did prove beneficial.

All in all, as a assessment of the Wolfgang products mentioned that I used, these are really all great, cannot say one single bad word, some of, if not the best products I've ever used, period.

I'll try posting a couple pics of the beater mobile soon. I'm sorry that I don;t have much in the way of before, or 50/50 pics to show.

Thanks again all! Mark

Finishing polishes are always a good way to perk up the paint by removing light marring.

I'm also new, but I plan to use the WG Paintwork Polish Enhancer, after Swirl removal and before the WG Paint Sealant 3.0. According to what I've research most of final look depends on the polishing step.

BTW, I tested the WG Paintwork Polish Enhancer followed by the WG Paint Sealant 3.0 on my MB (light color). I applied these products by hand, and frankly, I wasn't impressed. I thought it was due to the paint characteristics of the ceramic MB paint (which needs something different; e.g., Menzerna gear).

However, I used/tested the same combination on a different car (black color), but I machined the polish enhancer. After reducing the amount of polish I was initially using, I did see how I was able to achieve breaking it, and then the color, depth, and shine of the paint was something very satisfying, if not spectacular.
I wonder whether the paint sealant should also be broken like the polish; any comments? Up to now, I think it is just a protectant, and I believe that applying back and forth by hand would be best (minimizing the stresses on the polymers, but I'm not sure ... ???).

While I do have a few other polish products on hand here I could've tried, I did put my trust in the Wolfgang system for this Vehicle, and the final results have been extremely good, in fact great.

For a 12 year old car that is outside 365 days of the year, and has only had a substantial paint correction done about 6-7 years ago, I'd say the paint on this Vehicle has never looked better.

As for the WGDGPS, I am quite impressed with this product. I only did a simple final hand application, it went on super easy, a little goes far, and after a 1/2 hour set up time, came off just as effortlessly.

Absolutely no streaking, hazing, virtually no powder residue, and left a super slick-slippery shine that feels like a rock hard protective shell, sort of like how Collinte Super Doublecoat feels after applicaton.

No plasticky look, or feel, it seems to have some warm rich qualities like a very high quality Carnauba.

The only unknowns by me at this point, will be its longevity, and I am unsure if any benefits could be reaped by machine application?

I'll leave it to the other forum members who have more experience than I with the WGDGPS to comment whether Machine useage is even better than by hand? Perhaps one benefit, could be a more thin, and even application?
