Pretty obvious something is wrong. Send it back for warranty.

Loss of power is often a brush issue.

That's what I was thinking. Change the brushes and if it improves, you won' be without your buffer for very long. If not, send it in for service.

How old is it? If it starts out with plenty of power then slows as you use it, it's most likely a brush issue. This would not be covered under warranty because brushes are a wear item. If you find the extra set they sent you and it works, don't forget to call and get more, otherwise you will be down next time.

Make sure your backing plate always has a Sharpie type of mark. Makes it easy to notice when BP does not move.

The brushes should be at the tail of the motor (where the line cord comes in). If you remove the end cap, they should be visible. You can also check the brush springs that hold the brushes against the commutator.

I checked in that area but did not see any visible signs of brushes .

these are the new brushes that came with my gg6. should give you an idea how small they are and what they should look like new.

Thanks for the pics ... Yeah i have the same brushes , just cant find out where there located on the polisher to change them out.

If you follow the wiring going into the polisher it will lead you to the brushes.

Did you ask them why they included them with the polisher if they don't want you to change them?

I did they stated that they have asked the manufacturer of the polisher not to do that several times because of instances like this, they also stated that if i replace the brushes on my own it would void my warranty on that polisher . Apparently they dont want you changing out parts of there products.

Good news is I figured it out , I was using a 4" backing plate with 6.5" pads. I changed the backing plate back to the original 6" plate and it hasnt bogged down since. I dont know if it just mere coincidence or what ?
