GG6 Now what.........?

guys, why don't you support AG. They will match any price including Advance Auto Parts

As far as price matching, I think it's more so the inconvenience of having to call, have them check the other website, the feeling of their doing u a favor, when u can simply hit order button from another site and move on with your day. I've never called to price match, it makes me feel uncomfortable asking, it makes me feel guilty for some reason. :dunno:

You know how you see stuff.... read it..... and sometimes still don't "see" it.... well:banghead:

Also I for whatever reason see AG as a forum first and a store second.
.... wrong I know..... beginning to change now though.

I'm getting my pads from AutoGeek & probably some shampoo.

As far as the price match it was just more convenient to order from Advance Auto.
To get it from AutoGeek I would have had to email them the link explain to them that there was a coupon code involved and then wait for them to respond.
And they wouldn't have matched the free shipping most likely.
And Advance Auto shipped from somewhere in Indiana apparently - My polisher is coming tomorrow.

Mine too.

I actually have TWO coming tomorrow.

They failed to properly cancel the order. So now I have to go to the local store and return it in person.

How can you tell if it's version 2 or 3?

I've read V3 has finger grooves in the handle and the control switch is up on top. Basically more ergonomic. I think it has a little more power as well.

:iagree: and the on/off switch is on top. It has the same motor as v2 so I doubt it has more power. V1 had the most power.

Outer case is different, insides are all the same. IE no more power, but it doesn't need any. ;)

Okay......

So update.

I got both the GG6's same day, and I returned one. Got my money credited and the entire process was excellent.

So Now I am a proud owner of a new GG6............. but with no pads.

So I know I have asked before, but please further enlighten me.

Here is what is already decided.

* GG6
* I want to run the MF Pads.
* I want to run a 5 inch plate on a 5.5 MF pad

Here is what I want advice on:

* Which MF pads? Chemical guys black pads or Lake Country MF pads?
* CG has 2 different kinds.......... Optical Finish Microfiber Polishing System Pads which are white and the new Black optics...... what is the difference?
* Someone please highlight the difference between the LC MF Pads and the CG Black pads......
* Backing plates............which one is gooder? LOL Chemical guys or LC?
* On the Plates......... are the pads from different manufacturers interchangeable? ie. use a CG plate with a LC MF pad?

Thanks Very Much.

I will preface this by saying that I have not actually used any of these products yet, but this is what I ordered based on extensive reading. These are foam pads though not MF, I dont know much about MF pads if you are sure you want to go that way.

Backing plate:

Meguiars Mirror Glaze W67DA G110 DA Polisher 5 inch Backing Plate

Pads:

Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Pads 6 Pack, foam pad kit, build a kit, buffing pads, curved edge pads

Got 2 orange, 2 white, 1 black and 1 blue

Extra Pads: Since I didnt want to keep re-ordering, I also got some of the lake hydros to try out. For a higher cut pad, it seemed like people like the Cyan over the flat yellow.

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads 3 Pack - Your Choice!

I think I got 2 cyan and 2 tangerine.

Thank you Mavin.

I will keep that setup in mind ;)

Anyone else with information on the MF Pads?
