My experience is that streaking is caused by either dirt left behind, or not completely removing the cleaning solution. Step one for me when cleaning glass is to remove as much dirt as possible. I start with a wet 12"x12" terry cloth towel (more bite for cleaning) that is wrung as tight as possible to get most of the water out. After folding in half twice, a put a spritz of my favorite glass cleaner (I like Diamondite and Stoners, but most work well with my method), and clean one "panel". This might be half a windshield, a side window, etc. Step two is to then, before the glass dries, hit that area with a dry microfiber. Move to a clean "fold on each of the terry and microfiber towels and repeat for the next window. No streaks!

I agree, I've been using DP krystal vision for cleaning my glass and I like it but after going through a full bottle of it I have one more bottle to go and I'm looking forward to going back to Stoners.

I never use ordinary tap water. Pick up a gallon of distilled water for about $0.89 / gallon.
Regular tap water contains minerals and dissolved sediments that when dried can leave streaks right where you don't want them...
Never heard that before? I've been using nothin but tap water with my concentrates for decades and never experienced streaking? The only time I had a streaking problems was when I used certain plastic containers that would wick some nasty milky residue that noticeably settled on the bottom.
I agree. Very important to do a thorough buffing under the correct light to get everything perfectly.

David, i use distilled water as well, even though i have a state of the art dual media tank softening/ph system for my house water supply and also my garage hot/cold supply for details.
the distilled water thing is a habit based on the time before i had this system. we have well water and it has an incredible amount of iron and minerals. this entire area in southern NJ is a gold mine for water treatment places because city water hookup isn't always available and if you have well water, you NEED some sort of treatment. it's fine to drink, but that's about it. and it doesn't taste very good at that, unless it's treated.
i think that many products, especially those in the optimum line, for instance, have the ability to counter rough water but glass cleaner i can imagine doesn't have that power. i can't say for sure but i do know that before i had this system if there was any water whatsoever left anywhere, even in the slightest bit, it would spot horribly. i mean even the little tiny micro smears of water that can occur with drying or drying with a drying aid spray.
