going to the washroom...mobile guys

you guys are hilarious....running to the gas station it is:P

I bring a Gatoraid bottle. If the car is in the driveway, I'll raise the hood, so no one can see in the windshield, and sit in the driver's seat to handle my business. I can look underneath the bottom of the raised hood and make sure no one is approaching from the front while keeping my eye on the rear view mirror and making sure no one is approaching from the rear. If I had to drop a deuce, I'd definitely run to the nearest gas station.

:laughing:I'm surpeised nobody has said 'depends' yet!

Come to think of it, every detail I've been on the customer always just shows me where it is I never even have to ask. Ish, half the details I do the customers leave to go do other things when I'm half way done with the job!

I'd hate to be in mid-stream, as it were, & have somebody bearing down on me. Only two explanations I can think of for that. And hopefully they believe the first one. :)

Please tell me you're not doing this in the customer's car.

Sitting in a car and peeing in a Gatorade bottle is obviously much more professional than politely asking the customer "may I use your bathroom."

I just don't understand how people think sometimes...

Another reason for having/utilizing:

"The Two-Bucket Method" (With 'Grit-Gards', of course)!

:D

Bob

Nick would ban me for saying that.

I can't apologize for this reason:

I don't do very many mobile jobs these days (2-3 a year) but, when I do I have been VERY lucky to have VERY hospitable customers/hosts. If/when I do go mobile it is ONLY for 14 plus hours of work so the clients this far have just expected me to be using their restrooms.

I pack a lunch and eat it on site so handling business when on lunch break doest work for me.

Some have gone as far as to say "If you get hungry come on in and help yourself to anything"

No, not in a customer's car, but I seriously do this in my car, depending on the location/neighborhood. If I'm in a normal residential neighborhood with houses packed close together, this is a no go. If I'm in a neighborhood where each house sits on an acre or 2 of land and there's no chance of a neighbor seeing, then this is what I do. I'll normally have my hood raised and several detailing supplies laid across my motor throughout the detail, using my motor as a "work bench". With the hood raised, I can see through that little slit between the dash and the hood and also watch the rearview mirror. Make sure no one is approaching from the house, and no one is coming up the driveway. It works for me.

Why not just ask the customer if you can use their bathroom? I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

+1 I agree. You had the balls to "ask for their business" why not have the balls to ask where their bathroom is?

Interesting read lol, but very important nonetheless especially when doing big mobile detail jobs. I have been lucky and mostly all of my clients either have restrooms in the garage or have them right next to the garage entrance. I drink about 2 gallons of water a day so I tend to use the restroom more than some people.

If you have a van with spacious room I think those camping portable toilets would come in handy. I would probably use one and only use it for #1.

I use the customer's bathroom on the majority of jobs. No one cares. I always take my sneakers off and never use their towels to wipe my hands.

I have a toilet in my trailer and when I flush it it drops through the floor....then I spray a little APC steam the area and extract....works so far.

Dont think it has anything to do with balls :D

I only use a customers bathroom if they offer it to me and its
conveniently located.

Maybe some people arent comfortable having someone they dont know in their house using their bathroom several times a day and I dont want to feel like Im imposing.

Some people have dogs that go nuts , and its disruptive for people that work in the home.

Personally I think its more professional if you can ,to not use a customers bathroom.
