Good morning everyone,
I have been interested in getting a good compressor for the garage, for all around uses (air gun,OptiGun,Impact wrenches, tire inflation's ect...) but more importantly for the use of my customer/personal vehicle's interior details:

I would like to hear some opinions/recommendations on a compressor that is 110v,don't take up too much space, and has enough capacity (not run all the time) to run a Tornado cleaner thru a full interior detail(s).

I've been looking at this one:

Porter Cable C3151 Job Boss 150 PSI Portable Air Compressor

but ($449.00+$75.00shipping=$524.00) seems like WAY too much money to have to invest to use a Tornado interior cleaner.I understand this PC Compressor is pretty much maintenance(oil) free BUT $524 and only 4.5gallon tank size!

I know there has to be better options out there,no?

I did the math with AG's Father Day sale,I could get the PorterCable compressor at $381.65 and Free Shipping?
BUT
Is this compressor worth $381.65,more importantly is the 4.5gallon tank enough for what I want to use it for??

Don't bother with a compressor just get the gun that attaches to the water hose. As long as your outside water hose has pressure than you won't have any problems soaping the car. You will spend twice that amount on the gun and buying a compressor.

Already have a foam gun (for exterior).I wanted the Tornado for INTERIOR cleaning.

Most mini compressors aren't as good as they claim when running air ratchets, it takes a 20 gallon tank. There motor seems small for that thing to run air ratchets. They seem to claim it will work. I don't know man, the only thing I can say is look at the money back gaurentee. So if your not happy with it after trying it out just return it in the same shape you bought it, if you don't mind paying the shipping fees. You can always call them and verify if it's been tested to run air ratchets. Nail guns don't take much to run like a ratchet.

I would look and see what is available on your local craigslist. You may just be surprised. :xyxthumbs:
Maybe take the Tornado with you to see if it will do what you need .

There you go, maybe you will find a very good stolen compressor and save huge on cash. lol

That compressor will run fine for the interior, but if your looking to use it in anything relations to auto mechanic tools. I would definitely call them up and talk to them about that.

4.5gal is a pretty small tank, I'd look for something bigger since you don't want it to run constantly. The only downside is size obviously the bigger the tank the more space it's going to take up.

When considering tank size remember if its to be located in a detached garage many members mount them in the attic or a outside type structure (mini-barn etc).Keep in mind the CFM rating of the compressor compared to the demands of the tornado.
As far as stolen items on craigslist, our church uses it quite often. A little common sense goes a long way.

Check out somewhere like Sears, that's where I got my compressor from.

dewalt makes 15 gallon stand up or lay down models that would be perfect and for the price i think its a way better compressor

Thanks for the replies everyone, but i'm looking for some specific product recommendation.I have a 2.5 attached garage with no attic space.

Aero, which model works for you,do you use?

Sears usually has some great Air Compressors.:xyxthumbs:

Check with Chris Dasher (PorscheGuy997). He works at Sears and can quote most all of the compressor specs. He is a great guy and always willing to help out forum members.

The models have probably changed, but here are 2 photos that show some info for you.

Hope you can see that well enough :xyxthumbs:

I have a 6 gal craftsman compressor that was $185.69 out the door. Its small and still is able to run the tornador. I have a 30 gal compressor for air tools. you need a bigger compressor with more c f m for air tools. tank size is nice but cfm.is more important. I haven't found a small compressor that puts out the cfm needed for air told. Is size an issue? The one on ag is a good suppressor but I don't think its what you're looking for
