Got the new website up!! Check it out and leave feedback please!!

From a non-pro/potential customer perspective I have a few small recommendations. Overall it's a decent site and you're on the right track; 99% there.

Bullets: The list text is centered and seems disconnected from the left justified bullets. (On the home page the 10% full monty is the only item in the list). I would either indent the list and move the bullets or keep the list text centered and eliminate the bullets.

Package headings with the red & blue underlined text look like links. I would think about removing the underline from the headings. From a personal preference perspective, I'm not a huge fan of multiple text colors and styles all over the page; it reminds me of oldschool angelfire/geocities pages and definitely DIY.

Homepage: The mailing list form is titled "New Form" consider changing this to "Mailing List Sign-up" or something more descriptive to prevent confusion. Hide or ditch the page counter. I think the intro paragraphs could use some clean-up work.

Pics...get them up before you go live or remove the link 'till you're ready.

What does everyone think about how to best present your service packages? Do most people put the services they want to sell more first or do you list your services in order of ascending price?

I'm thinking an address on the home page would be helpful for a retail location.

Made some big changes to the site. Let me know what you think! As soon as i get my carpet extractor, were going mobile. any ideas about a good mobile carpet extractor? Looking to spend about 700 or less.

The site looks like it was made in 2000. The links are not optimized for Google to pick them up and it doesn't scream professional detailing to me at all.

You need a layout, better forms and just a better overall appeal to the site.

I'll help you out with this if you want simply since I don't have anything else to do.

It is getting better.

something I just picked up on, on the home page you mention a deal if you purchase a certain number of details, you get one free. In this spot, you mention the full monty package several times, but it is not listed anywhere on your services menu.

You may want to add that so people know what is involved both steps and cost wise.

I changed the full monty package which was the full package with everything included to the "Gold package". but for some reason it changed it on the packages page but not the others. changing it now

It is getting better.

What would be your recommendations? I thought with the colors and everything it had a nice pop to it.

What would you charge for a hand wash, towel dry, window cleaning and tire dressing?

I only ask because maintenance washes are way I make most of my money. I can do 10 per day and make a good chunk of change, it keeps my customers coming back in between details.

10 for a quick wash and wipe down and vacuum, 15 for armor all and tire shine.

Lot's of great ideas coming up! Site looks good and just needs some tweeking and polishing up. Definitely have your wife go through the grammatical stuff, especially the FAQ area.

Hats off to ya for putting it up for scrutiny and suggestions! Hoping to follow suit later this summer with my own site!

Best of Luck!

Kurt

feedback has been awesome so far everyone! thanks for all of it. still accepting it if you want to give it!! Cant ask for feedback unless you can take the good and the bad!

In the sections "FAQ" & "Products" you need to run a spell check. Also, some of the sentences can be re-written to be grammatically correct & easier to read.

I posted some pics up on the site, i think it really sets it off. Its a couple of trucks that ive done in the past

It does look better man. Keep plugging at it.

Here's a couple of things. Don't take offense...just trying to help!...

I would scrap that cheesy hit counter on the bottom of the page that looks like a limo. It doesn't fit your page all that well.

I would also work on adding more photos. Photos make a HUGE difference in selling someone your services. When you have a good amount of photos, you have proof that a potential customer is not your ONLY customer. Having customers means you're doing something right.

When you go on to a business site, go to the photos page (especially a detailing business) and see one photo captured job...that's a red flag to me. It either means you're just starting, or you have no business at all.

You don't want to advertise that you're just starting out. Mentioning that you work out of your home, having one job in the photo section, and having a supplies section that lists things like towels, Armor-All (which you shouldn't be using), wax, polish, etc...are all pretty big give aways that this may all be new to you.

You may want to list some of your actual equipment. Things like extractor, rotary, DA, Air tools, etc. If you don't have any of those things...than maybe just scrap the supplies page all together...cause there's not much to the list. I would hope that you have a supply of towels, haha.

Keep at it, it's getting better!!!:dblthumb2:

I'm not a pro detailer or any thing, but something I noticed under the motorcycle section. "Armor all leather" As a rider who taker great pride in my bike the scariest thing you can say is Armor all. Maybe us the term "dress the leather" And please, please never put anything on the seat, just wash it. You dont want some one on an 800lbs bike with a slippery seat.

Main thing is the grammar and spelling. Close up the text on the packages page, I had to scroll for a mile to see the various packages and forgot the prices by the time I reached the bottom. Get rid of the photo of your truck blowing diesel exhaust on the home page. You may think it's cool, but people who drive cars hate to get behind diesels blowing crap out their tailpipe. I wouldn't even consider you just because of that.

I would use better quality photos. Nothing puts me off like blocky jpegs, and bad compression can hide the finer details of your work. I would also use a smoother downsampling algorithm when you reduce the size of the pictures, such as "lanczos" or "bicubic", this will greatly reduce the jagged edges you can see in the pics. I don't know which software you use.

If bandwidth becomes an issue, remove some of the less important photos. Quality over quantity, just like your detailing work.

Good luck with your business! :)

Nothing I state is against you personally, but the site has a "look what I made for free!" appearance and feel to it.

The pictures are all wrong, as noted remove the picture of the truck blowing smoke, not good.

Also the statement about applying a wheel wax that repels brake dust....there's no such thing. So I would re-word that to state something like, "After cleaning and polishing your wheels we finish the look with a wax" Don't state it does anything but that it's just a wax.

When you offer some of the newer coatings then you can make some claims about durability and such.

I used to make my own web sites and I could never get the look I wanted, the "professional" and tasteful look until my business partner and I paid a pro to design and build it.

Take a look. San Antonio Paintless Dent Repair, Window Tinting, Auto Detailing We get compliments all the time now and it drives us business.

Good luck,
Anthony
