I had the DA on speed 5, since that was my working speed. I was using lake country orange pad with ultimate compound.
Isn't speed 5 a little high? I take it down to speed 2 when cleaning on the fly. Of course, I guess that's not really "on the fly".
Lifetime warranty redeemed!
It only took 21 days from sending the first email to me getting a new one. Apparently Autogeek had started filling out the paper work then it got lost. "Slipped threw the cracks." I am upset. I am a college student and details cars freelance. I was on winter break made calls and recuited. I had two jobs lined up and then two other people called to get there cars detailed as well. I had to turn them all down. One would of been a +25hour job, 3 stage full correction. Another would of been 12-15 hours and the last two were simple AIO 4-6hour jobs. That would of been a lot of money in my pocket. One job the owner is going to let me have a go at it again, but the others they went somewhere else. It was the holidays and people wanted a nice looking car. I couldn't do the work without a DA. I have a corded drill and some wool pads, but that won't do much of anything. I see why people buy 2 or more DA/rotaries for when one breaks down. Now I am back in school and going to be really struggling to pay rent and everything. Not to mention I always need more detailing supplies, pads and polish.
I am happy to have my new DA back. Its great to have the lifetime warranty. I bought from auto geek because of the good customer service reputation. I had this DA for 7months, then it broke. But the new one is working and I've been working. I got a carpet brush attachment
Im sorry you lost a few jobs over break. Having just graduated in december I am all too familiar with busting my butt over break to put some money in the bank account.
Hopefully you wont run into this again but if you do maybe just pick up another machine. I would have just bought a new machine to do the corrections. The money from one of those jobs would have paid for the new machine, so even if you would have broken even you would have had 2 machines and a happy customer that will potentially give you business in the future.
BUT most importantly keep up the good work in school! It can be rough but when you are finished and have that diploma that is something YOU accomplished and nobody can take it away from you.
