Is the new 3" HD backing plate still in the process of coming out? Any Idea on availability? I went to place a order, but orders can't be placed for this product.

hopefully soon, i wanted to order it as well...

Just checked Griots site and did find anything there yet.

I asked Griots this question directly...the email response (from 11/21) I got from them was:

"They should start releasing in about 2-3 weeks"

I was really interested in getting one of these. Very disappointed they're not available yet

Yeah I was gonna get one myself and a GG6to compliment it lol

Want to test that setup vs my Rupes mini

You read my mind :)

I bought a griots 6" on sale on another site along with 3" HD plate. The plate is suppose to ship out the 20th. You fiquire 1/2 the price of a rupes mini....I know=I know Rupes is the best but for me and my 3 cars this should work fine :)

Seems like a lot of us have the same idea, the GG6 is half the price of the Rupes mini. Please post your findings when you test it against your Rupes mini.

Will this backing plate work well with a 7424?

Also, will it work well with Lake Country pads? I like the idea of matching backing plates to pads for compatible hook-and-loop materials.

if it fits the GG6, then it will fit the PC (or any other DA with the same size thread spindle like below) and it should be fine to use with the lake country pads as well...

That looks like the LC 3" backing plate correct Visitor?

Will do
I find the Rupes mini lacks power on speed 4.5
And was looking into switching that to thin pros and or adding the new kamikaze BP..but for that price I can be almost to GG6 range
Still may buy a Zentool mini to compare also then sell off the one I like the least

Just ordered some of the Boss 3" pads to use with this BP and a HF DA. With how thin these pads are I'm hoping rotation won't be a problem.

I had similar thoughts about getting the Kamikaze BP, but for around the same price, or slightly more depending on what you go with, you can have a dedicated 3" setup.

I'm also interested to hear you guys' review of this new 3" backing plate vs. the Lake Country.

I'll only be able to review it by itself unless everyone starts giving their other 3" plates away after this comes out.

To Nothingface: I think the 3" BP that's not sold here is only for the Duetto. The mini should have a lighter counter balance and it might not work well with that BP. Unless they make one for the mini too.?

yeah its new,but noone has it in stock yet...i orderd it from their UK distributor..but after 2month or so i cancelled it

the 3in beast is for duetto
the 3in katana is the new BP for the Mini
obviously the one benefit of spaced away from the anti spin shroud wont be an advange for the mini, as it doesnt have one..but figured rotating mass would be less

yes, just using the picture for reference in regards to the spindle as being the same size threading as the GG3 hd backing plate...
